About 8400GS, I suppose it's supported as well as any nv50 card, so
look at the nv50 column to see what to expect :

[TEST REQUEST] NV50/NV8x/NV9x ctxprog and ctxvals generator
...te a generator for ctxprogs on NV50, NV84, NV86, NV92, NV94, NV96,
NV98. Atm it's only tested with NV86 and I'd like to see if it works for all
the other cards, especially NV50. NVAx support is still missing due to some
differences, but should be coming soon. Address is
http://0x04.net/~mwk/gen.diff , please test it with all mentioned cards, and
involve as much gallium as possible. Anything that works with nvidia ctxprogs,
but not with the generator counts as a bug. Report back to my mail address, or
to mwk on IRC.

[TEST REQUEST] NV50/NV8x/NV9x/NVAx ctxprog and ctxvals generator
http://0x04.net/~mwk/0001-drm-nv50-Implement-ctxprog-state-generation.patch
This patch makes nouveau generate its own ctxprogs out of thin air on NV50
family cards and allows us to get rid of nvidia's firmware.
It differs quite a bit from nvidia progs and needs thorough testing on as many
chipsets and applicati...

[PATCH/TESTING(all hw)/DISCUSSION] FIFO (minor) create and (major) destroy instabilities on nv50+
...96.
This patch needs testing on NV50+ hardware and regression testing on
older hardware, since i did change some of the common codepaths. This
is very much a work in progress, and if you have anything to
add/correct, please share it.
I've also attached a 2 test apps, once is bitscan-fail from mwk, use
it like ./bitscan-fail 0x200 to trigger PGRAPH errors. A modified
version only emits NOPs (method 0x100) and represents the no error
situation.
For me, i can run the NOP program in loops of 10000 iterations with no
problems (i've done so several times), the bitscan-fail survives 10000

Seems likely that the HW is different, since it'd be madness to try to
do decompression in the falcon code itself. (Not to say that the ISA
isn't suited to it, just they have relatively slow clocks.) mwk is in
the process of working it all out.

Sessions Not Working In Production Mode
I am completely stumped by this problem, and would welcome any
suggestions people could provide.
My application uses active-record-based sessions. In development mode,
the app works fine with sessions, no problems. But in production mode,
the process works for a while (a few hours, maybe more), but at a
certain point the session mechanism stop working.
It looks like the system stops storing new

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/mmu/nv4a: use nv04 mmu rather than the nv44 one
...as necessary. As a result, it appears that the MMU is also
non-functional. For AGP cards, the vast majority of the NV4A lineup,
this worked out since we force AGP cards to use the nv04 mmu. However
for PCI variants, this did not work.
Switching to the NV04 MMU makes it work like a charm. Thanks to mwk for
the suggestion. This should be a no-op for NV4A AGP boards, as they were
using it already.

...ranslations.
Unless anyone objects, I propose, that all translation pages are
eligible for removal if they have not been properly updated within
two weeks since the original page was updated.
TiNDCs are an exception, they are not live content, and they should
be up-to-date anyway, by definition.
mwk already did some good job on removing outdated pages.
The most recent translation update is for the FrontPage more than a
month ago for Spanish, and the page is syntactically broken.
Notice, that all translations of FrontPage would be in danger
right now.
Pages I propose for removal right now:

[PATCH] gm107: separate out sched decoding from regular ops
...that. Secondly, it would make it
impossible to assembly one plain instruction without first inserting a
sched, which would be annoying.
Note - this does mean that to decode a gm107 op, one has to supply sched
bytes first. However we're nowhere as picky as nvdisasm - zeroes work
just fine.
---
mwk - this is a little hacky, but seemed like the simplest way to go.
Please have a look and let me know if this is OK as is or if I should
change it somehow.

GeForce GTS 250M: no acceleration...
Good day. I am Carlo - living in the Netherlands. Today I came in
possession of a MSI-produced barebone laptop - a MS-1656-ID1 (which is
equivalent in hardware to the GT640 "gaming" laptop).
This laptop comes wih a video card that is identified as follows:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT215 [GeForce GTS 250M] (rev a2)
(pci ID 10de:0ca9). For your info, the
