samba and the application of MS patch KB852004 - madness may follow
Where I work recently (about a week ago) applied the patch KB852004 to their XP Pro boxes and things in the samba world are now broken. The setup has been working for quite a while - a Linux box with a samba 3.0.24 server on it to allow WIndows users to access shares on the system. Sparc Solaris 10 samba issue -
Folks: Having an issue with samba 3.0.24 on a Sun Sparc Solaris 10 box compiled with gcc version 3.4.6. WinXp - Samba - Solaris Connection issue
Folks: I have a strange issue that occurs when one of my XP Pro system tries to connect to a samba server (2.0.24) on either a Sparc Solaris 10 or Sparc Solaris 9 system. This is the output from log.smbd when the problem XP Pro system tries to connect to the server: [2007/03/28 14:47:01, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr(1229) getpeername failed.
