Installing multiple discs
I need help! I installed Winebottler, and installed the first disc of a 4 disc windows program on my mac book pro. But when I went to install disc 2 when prompted, I had to quit Winebottler to put the disc in. But I need Winebottler running to do the install. How do I do it? David Murphey

systrace for FreeBSD 5.1
...I'm sending him the diffs to integrate into his distribution. I'd also like to submit them to someone with FreeBSD for consideration, and hopefully inclusion as a port or whatever you prefer. Who could I send them to, or what would you prefer me to do with regard to FreeBSD? Thanks, Rich Murphey

...or the domains of the master if it remains down too long. If my (sometimes faulty) memory serves me well it is in the three day range (but configurable) which is ample time unless the problem occurs early in a holiday weekend and and the notification/escalation process isn't what it should be (Murphey's Law)... The value you refer to is the SOA record _expire_ value for a zone, I believe is should be set to between 14 and 28 days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOA_record

Mac OS X installer for Asterisk
...all Asterisk on OSX just double click the package file. please send any feedback to benjamin (at) sunrise (dash) tel (dot) com NOTE: this is a fairly old build but it's rock solid. We have run it on OSX Server 10.2.8 since October last year and it's been going like a Swiss clockwork. Rich Murphey has promised to fix the Makefile for the most recent CVS so it will build on OSX again. Once this is done, we'll make another installer package for the new version. Also, I am still working on extending the install package so that users can choose whether or not they want to install the source...

X-Lite/Firefly behind NAT connecting to Asterisk not receiving RTP
I have an asterisk server up and running, using Firefly in IAX mode works great, even with Firefly behind a NAT (as expected, since IAX works really well with NAT). Now I'm trying to get X-Lite and/or Firefly to work in SIP mode from behind the NAT, and I can't seem to get there. At this point, the phone will successfully register with Asterisk, and the Asterisk qualify messages get

Reverse number lookup
Voicepulse Connect provides callerid number, but not name. If the caller isn't already in my database I would like to do a reverse number lookup on the net to get a name. There are several web sites that allow you to do exactly that, for free. To do that from * would require that I write scripts to run the web query and get the name off the results page. Some of the sites I looked at

...n more than you parted with. This will not happen if you just sit on your patches alone in your closet. Step out! * FreeBSD support is finally fixed! ----------------------------------- If I awarded Asterisk "code contributor of the week" awards, this week's award would go to Dr Rich Murphey. He's added a lot of code fixes to make Asterisk work better on FreeBSD systems. He's also fixed the recursive mutex bug that has been a show- stopper for some time. That fix is not in CVS head yet, but will make it there soon. Rich, thank you! The award, a nice cup of tea on my veranda, wa...

*** Asterisk Sunday (hrrm) News: Moving ahead at CVS Warp 5
Sunday news is today published on a monday. Yesterday was fourth of july, and I used that as an excuse for being off line yesterday. (Sweden's national day is June 6th - and it's not yet a public holiday, btw). Most of my Asterisk time lately have been used for producing the registration site for Astricon and tracking down speakers that haven't sent in their material for the conference

MD5 Collisions...
Hi everyone, Not sure if you've read http://www.win.tue.nl/hashclash/SoftIntCodeSign/ . should some kind of advisory be sent to advise people not to rely solely on MD5 checksums? Maybe an update to the man page is due ? : " MD5 has not yet (2001-09-03) been broken, but sufficient attacks have been made that its security is in some doubt. The attacks on MD5 are in the
