Addressing the problem of noisy GPUs under Nouveau
...Us, but this is of course suboptimal. This is why I am asking for your help. Would you have some documentation about this fan calibration table that could help me here? Code would be even more appreciated. [Bug 57988] New: [regression][bisected][NV4E] LVDS output has offset to the right, part falling of is painted on the left
...n is improperly repainted on the left side, seems like a mirror effect in that this repainting is happening twice - upper part of the screen has a horizontal bar that is probably 1 or 2 pixels thick. Desktop is displayed there, but it's scrambled. This is with an 'C51 (NV4E)' chipset. Mupuf on #nouveau mentioned removing the ' #if 0 / #endif ' parts in this commit and see if that rebuilds. I added 'pll_limit_tbl_ptr' back to nouveau_bios.h to make it compile. This does not help. Bug is still there. The dmesg log 'attempt' contains the dmesg output with this mod...

...ligible, contact your potential mentor and start discussing right away with him/her. We welcome any student who finds the prospect of working on our Open Source Graphics stack exciting! I will be once again the primary contact for the X.Org Foundation, so please ask me anything by email or on IRC (mupuf on freenode). Other administrators are Alex Deucher and Taylor Campbell (both Cc:ed). Looking forward to interacting with old and new contributors, and maybe welcome previous GSoC/EVoC students as mentors now that they grew to become core contributors and/or have full-time jobs in the Graphics sta...

[Bug 40891] New: OpenCL: Implementing an LLVM backend for GPGPU
...n implemented by Denis Steckelmacher during the GSoC 2011 (https://steckdenis.wordpress.com/2011/08/23/the-gsoc-is-over/) that currently works on the CPU only. This implementation work can be done by a newcomer, it requires knowledge (or willing to get it) in compilers. Please contact Martin Peres(mupuf) to get started. We'll see who can mentor your work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 41644] New: Mouse pointer flickering/disappearing on NV05
...a couple of Compiz effects work (though compiz-check says that the card is unsupported). But there's an irritating issue with the mouse pointer. The mouse pointer often flickers or disappears when I do not move the mouse. When moving the mouse it appears again. I have already sent my VBIOS to mupuf. The problem seems to become less serious when running Compiz instead of Metacity. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.

If anyone lost push-rights to envytools, please ping us on #nouveau and we will provide it back to you! Cheers, Martin (mupuf), on behalf of the Nouveau team [1] There were 3 repositories, the original one at 0x04.net, one at sourceforge and one on github/pathscale. I will not link to them because I don't want to increase the google rank of these now-obsolete repository. [2] https://stellarsurvey.com...

[PATCH 1/4] pm/fan: drop the fan lock in fan_update() before rescheduling
From: Martin Peres <martin.peres at labri.fr> This should fix a deadlock that has been reported to us where fan_update() would hold the fan lock and try to grab the alarm_program_lock to reschedule an update. On an other CPU, the alarm_program_lock would have been taken before calling fan_update(), leading to a deadlock. We should Cc: <stable at vger.kernel.org> # 3.9+ Reported-by:
