qcc package & syndromic surveillance (multivar CUSUM?)
.... . . . Hospital F: 7 14 DAY 2 Respiratory Neuro ... Hospital A: 10 12 . . . . . . Hospital F: 7 14 ... etc., and my goal is to do a kind of multivariate quality control test (without fitting a GLM), that would run each day after the data is updated and be able to answer the question: "Has there been a significant variation in the central tendency of the data?" An analogous problem would be detecting the early signs of a shift in g...

dist
Hi list! I'm computing multivar. distances from a set of centroids to a (large) set of individuals. I'm now just using rbind to create a matrix (x) with the centroid and the individuals, then run as.matrix(dist(x)) and finally select the appropriate columns, as I'm not interested on the distances among individuals. Theref...

Multivariate random forests in R - how to obtain variance explained for multiple responses in randomForestSRC package - or other package
Hello, I am wanting to use MRF to do multivariate regression. We are testing whether acoustic indices can predict structure (relative abundances) of vocalising avian community in UK and Ecuador. There are 26 acoustic indices, 65 UK species and 95 Ecuadorian species. I want to build a model for each ecozone (UK/ EC) using all species (relative...

Geometrical Interpretation of Eigen value and Eigen vector
Dear all, It is not a R related problem rather than statistical/mathematical. However I am posting this query hoping that anyone can help me on this matter. My problem is to get the Geometrical Interpretation of Eigen value and Eigen vector of any square matrix. Can anyone give me a light on it? Thanks and regards, Arun [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Difference between two correlation matrices
Hi Now a more theoretical question. I have two correlation matrices - one of a set of variables under a particular condition, the other of the same set of variables under a different condition. Is there a statistical test I can use to see if these correlation matrices are "different"? Thanks Mick
