Centos 5.5 and Canon PIXMA 7600 multifunction printer/scanner/fax
Hello listmates,
xsane on Ubuntu 10 finds that Canon PIXMA via the web and seems to be able
to make use of it without a glitch. However, Centos machines sitting on the
same net fail to find it. Does anybody know why?
Thanks.
Boris.

Anyone have a Brother multifunction working on Centos 7?
I have a Brother MFC 7360N, and it is refusing to print.
Given a job, the printer state shows, "Sending data to printer"; the file
is in the spool dir; the job queue is empty, and nothing more happens.
I had used the Brother driver installer, and ran into a 32-bit problem. The
rpm runs braddprinter, which fails looking for /lib/ld-linux.so.2. I don't
know what braddprinter does,

Canon multifunction printers / samba 3.0.2a / AIX 5.2ML2
Hello,
I have problems setting up a canon multifunction ir7200. When I print the
windows test page, I have something like "smiley" "arrow" "arow" "smiley"
"arrow" name_of_the_samba_spool "smileys" driver.dll etc,etc,etc, on a
single line.
Did somebody used such a multifunction with Samba ? Below is a (long)
description of what I did.

[PATCH] PCI: Expose hidden NVIDIA HDA controllers
From: Lukas Wunner <lukas at wunner.de>
The integrated HDA controller on Nvidia GPUs can be hidden with a bit in
the GPU's config space. Information about this scheme was provided by
NVIDIA on their forums.
Many laptops now ship with this device hidden, meaning that Linux users
of affected platforms (where the HDMI connector comes off the NVIDIA GPU)
cannot use HDMI audio

[PATCH] Revert "PCI: Enable NVIDIA HDA controllers"
This reverts commit b516ea586d717472178e6ef1c152e85608b0ce32.
While this fixes audio for a number of users, this commit has the
sideaffect of breaking the BIOS workaround that's required to make the
GPU on the nvidia P50 work, by causing the GPU's PCI device function to
stop working after it's been set to multifunction mode.

PCI passthrough fails in virsh: iommu group is not viable
I would really appreciate some pointers on what I am doing wrong here.
I have a need to run multiple virtual guests which have each their own GPU and
some USB controllers passed-through. I am able to run one of the guests like
this (assuming vfio stuff has happened elsewhere), but I would prefer to use
virsh:
kvm -M q35 -m 8192 -cpu host,kvm=off \
-smp 4,sockets=1,cores=4,threads=1 \

I set all five of my customer XP workstations to

ntlm auth = yes
And had to turn it right back on as the customer's

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello,
I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215
by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I
could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my
printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the
printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes
and scan under Windows XP. Under

PCI Passthrough question (xm->xl migration in Xen 4.2.2)
In XM toolchain, we use to put pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6=0@1a'' ] but looks like
in XL toolchain there is no way to specify function in the guest.
Kindly let me know.
XM - pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6=0@1a'' ]
XL - pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6@1a'' ]
In the guest VM we see that PCI device is getting 0 function in both the
cases however, it may not work the

[PATCH] pci: fix off-by-one error and introduce MAX_PCI_FUNC
In include/sys/pci.h we have
#define MAX_PCI_BUSES 255
and
struct pci_bus_list {
struct pci_bus pci_bus[MAX_PCI_BUSES];
uint8_t count;
};
And in lib/pci/scan.c
for (bus = 0; bus <= MAX_PCI_BUSES; bus++) {
pci_bus_list->pci_bus[bus].pci_device_count = 0;
Fix possible overflows and introduce MAX_PCI_FUNC.
