more recent perl version?

And that?s what we keep trying to tell you: in the RHEL/CentOS world, that simply is not the case, because there is a multibillion-dollar entity ensuring that it is not so. All hail the benefactors!

...iling lists. I think forking CentOS 5 or 6 is less effort, but hey, your time, your project. If anyone out there is thinking this is too much work, some of the major Linux distributions are, or were at one point, largely one-person efforts. It is certainly not a lot of work, but you don?t need a multibillion dollar company to fork CentOS. Both projects could fail, and it would still be a much better signal to Red Hat what the people want. Again: working code argues best.

That must be someone?s backport. As someone who migrated a mod_perl based app off of mod_perl several years ago, I recommend that you do not use it, unless you have old

Were to find appropriate functions for a given task in R
This is a generic request concerning were to look for finding appropriate information on a precise procedure in R. I’m using R for teaching introductory statistics and my students are learning how to deal with it. However, I find it difficult to locate some of the procedures. For instance, for basic crosstabulation, it is obvious that basic functions as table, ftable, and prop.table can be used.

On the total nondisclosure of the 8/9/06 security vulnerability
...problems that the crackers surely knew about; the problem could have been fixed in minutes if the whole Rails developer community was looking at it. Sun and the big J2EE app server vendors send out glossy brochures and sales teams to wine and dine their customers. The glossy brochures and the multibillion dollar brand name stamped onto the product give managers a warm, fuzzy feeling. It makes them feel safe, because (theoretically) they have someone to sue if things go wrong. Rails doesn''t have that. Rails is produced by a decentralized team of people on the Internet. While we, as techn...
