Best Way to Import HC-X800 1080 60p/50p MTS to iMovie HD
Panasonic HC-X800 is expert HD camcorder with 3MOS system Pro, shooting 1080 60p/50p AVCHD footage at bitrates of up to 28Mbit/sec and exhibiting outstanding HD images with minimum noise. The HC-X800 records AVCHD MTS videos on P2 card. You may want to edit AVCHD MTS videos you shoot with iMovie. The problem is that iMovie often cannot import and recognize the 60p/50p footages, nor can it accept the 60p/50p files directly from HC-X800 or from the SDHC card through a card reader. You Know, AVCHD MTS is not the c...

tail.matrix returns matrix, while tail.mts return vector
...ad when applied to multiple time series. I'm not sure as whether I did not understand the function or whether it correspond to an unexpected behavior. When head(a,n) is applied on data.frame or matrix, it returns a data-frame or matrix with first n obs of *each* variable. When applied to a mts object, it returns first n obs of *first* variable only, not of all... The same for tail(). See: head(freeny) ###mts object head(EuStockMarkets) #is equivalent to: head(EuStockMarkets[,1]) I guess it comes from absence of a head method for mts. Does it seem reasonable to have also a head.mts o...

[Bug 11609] New: Incorrect (or at least dangerous) behaviour of --append-verify
...in case of interruption, rsync will leave the destination file in its partial state so that it can be resumed at a later point. Consider, for example: source volume: "/Volume/DyingHDD" destination volume: "/Volume/NewHDD" Suppose I have a 2 GB file "/Volume/DyingHDD/00027.MTS" and my DyingHDD is really dying: its read speed has degraded to around 5 MB/s and it's so unstable that it can't read 10 GB without suddenly going offline (OS X would think that it has not been ejected cleanly). So I try to salvage whatever is on DyingHDD by doing "rsync -av --a...

Using valgrind to debug R, extracting column of a mts object causes valgrind to crash
Dear all, I'm trying to debug my R package with valgrind, but I cannot get past the point where I load make the data, as valgrind crashes when trying to extract a single time series object of a multivariate mts object. I'm using R 2.15.0 with platform x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu (64-bit). The valgrind.R contains code data(Seatbelts) y<-Seatbelts[,"VanKilled"] And I run valgrind with R -d "valgrind --tool=memcheck --leak-check=yes" --no-save < valgrind.R Results look like this...

Array as time series?
Dear R-helpers, I have 4-dimensional atmospheric data (x,y,z,t), which I want to analyse on spatio-temporal diversities. As far as I understand there only exists the possibility to construct time series as two-dimensional matrices (mts). For the moment, I hold it in different objects: 1. a four-dimensional array for the spatial related analyses 2. a two-dimensional mts timeserie, which was derived from 1. by computing spatial means. But, still this doesn't help for combined spatio-temporal analysis. One could regard the ti...

plotOHLC unequally spaced time.
Hi I have som financial tick data that i have converted in to 45 min bars. These are unequally spaced in time. I wonder if it is possible to plot these like bars as the plotOHLC does. As I have understood plotOHLC uses class(mts) that must be equally spaced? Regards Paer [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
