Making Samba4 log data accessible in MsWindows EventLog Viewer?
I'd like to make the data in the logs from Samba4 available to view in MsWindows Eventlog Viewer.
The most information I can find on this subject is this link: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Event_Logging
Here's what I think I understand from that article:
1) Tell samba which event log 'names' to create (and somehow report to the Ms. EventViewer);
2) Find/...

R-0.62.4 for MsWindows (again)
I apologize but I made an error and just sent the message with the
same 'subject' without saying that the files can be found
in the R/bin/ms-windows/win-32-devel directory at CRAN
(in this moment only at the Wien site, I suppose).
In addition, please, replay to this message not to the one before.

viruses for mswindows on a linux machine running wine
Hello
I have a very complete installation of wine with a lot of dll's and
executables in .wine/... /system and system32
I have tried many windows apps and found a lot working perfectly - just to
try as I dont need them: native Linux apps do as well for me
I currently use Acroread.exe which seems to run better than the linux apps to
view the .pdf
I also use IZArc.exe to unpack

R-0.62.4 for MSWindows
Following the release of R-0.62.4, I have update my Win32's port.
New features:
- The console can be configured (font, colours, dimensions).
No fancy dialog (yet), but look to the rw0624/etc/Rconsole file.
- help.start() now is implemented. Of course, you need the html
documentation.
Bugs fixed (I hope):
- Alt+Gr problems on some European keyboards.
- Focus is 'always'

Speed up plotting to MSWindows graphics window
...g of the plots whilst panning is too
slow when dealing with this much data.
i.e.: I can see the last graphs being drawn to the screen in the
half-second following the view change.
I need a fluid change from one view to the next.
My question is this:
Are there ways to speed up the plotting on the MSWindows display?
By reducing plotted point densities to *sensible* values?
Using something other than plot.ts() - is the lattice package faster?
I don't need publication quality plots, they can be rougher...
I have tried:
-Using matrices instead of dataframes - (works for calculations but not

hsv producing a color intensity not in [0,1] (PR#2576)

)
When hsv is accessed with values such as:
hsv(0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1) gives "#80FF40"
h3sv(0.5, 0.5, 0.49, 1) gives "#7DFA3E"
however,
hsv(0.5, 0.5, 0.51, 1) gives "color intensity 1.02, not in [0,1] "
I have run the same above on the MSWindows port and the colour values are very
different:
("#408080, #3E7D7D, and #418282, respectively). On the MSWindows platform, the
colours seem well behaved and no errors are encountered. Any help would be
appreciated.

A little problem
Hello, samba
I have configured samba in my net, and it works well. From computers in
the same sub-net, using w95, in the "Network Area" they can see the samba
server.
However, from computers in other nets, I can connect with "Connect to net
unit", but I can't see the server in th "Network Area".
What's the problem?
Sorry for my bad English

Autocad without an installed Windows

I tried to install an old version of autocad (13, student edition,
Release 13c4a), on a MSWindows-free box.
I ran :

Samba & AutoCad 2007
...by multiple user. I'm not really sure how it's
implemented, I'm still in process to get access to some implementation
details.
So far, our investigation point that Samba may be in cause. I think it's
related to some flag not supported by Samba or implemented differently
to the MsWindows.
This problem is a big issue for us and I want to do everything possible
to fix this problem (what ever it's Samba related or AutoCad related.)
To proceed, I need some help from Samba team to debug the problem with me.
How can I have detailed logs showing the open flag ?
Is a tcpdump can be...

Should we require ''rubygems'' in our samples?
Twice now, I have had some frustration trying to get my gem path
recognized without having to manually specify -rubygems on the command
line. It''s under-documented in Ubuntu[1].
I''m thinking that we should definitely mention this issue in the README.
Shouldn''t we also require ''rubygems'' in all our samples, to make it as
easy as possible for folks to

R-0.61.1 compiled with egcs-mingw32

to CRAN.
guido m.
This is the README enclosed in the distribution.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
rgnwbin.tgz and rgnwsrc.tgz are the first results of an attempt to
build R for Win95 and WinNT using egcs-mingw32.
The advantages over the binaries for MsWindows that can be found in CRAN
are:
1. R seems to run faster. Some simple (perhaps too simple)
benchmarks point to a 20% gain.
2. The port is based on a more recent version (0.61.1) and it is more
complete (more "system calls": system, tempfile, unlink,
WinExec - to launch applicati...
