Novell Client forces password change, Ver. 3.5.2. and LDAP
...amba 3.5.2 , updated all the LDAP schemas
according to Samba Version 3.5.2, setup an new 64Bit Ubuntu (10.4) and
build the new Samba. Everything worked fine and the testclient (without
Novell) could login without any trouble. But if i try to login on a
Novell-Client (using nwgina.dll instead of msgina.dll), i'm forced to set a
new password and this is what we don't want.
Users LDAP-Values for "sambaPwdMustChange" are quite old, but the
LDAP-Value "sambaMaxPwdAge" for the object "sambaDomain" itself is set to

I have exactly the same problem. I have a Debian Woody machine running
Samba 3.0.7-1 as PDC, and some Win XP SP1 machines as client. Everything
works fine: shares, domain logon, roaming profiles, etc.

...ntly I decided to upgrade all client workstations
to WindowsXP SP2. Fresh copy of WindowsXP joined domain properly but when I
tried to logon as usual it accepted password and shut down after a while
(logs of samba confirm that workstation logged on). Windows claims that
winlogon caused exception in msgina.dll lib.
Did anyone expirenced similar problem ?

not exist or could not be contacted. Enrollment will not be performed.
another problem is when Domain A user logon the workstation from Domain B, a
"blue screen to death" was prompted where the error from winlogon.exe
(msgina.dll)

1, our client machine is the windows 2000
2, We want our Kerberos run in the Unix box.
3, We also want the samba as PDC for all windows user and machine.
4, We want integrate the Kerberos Authentication with samba authentication.

WinXP SP2 winlogon.exe blue screen to death

I have another problem on WinXP SP2 with samba.3.0.20a. Somehow, in a random
situation, once user logged onto the workstations, they were prompted with
the winlogon.exe Fatal error + blue screen to death then self-reboot. When I
checked out the log from windows, it said there's problem on msgina.dll from
WinXP SP2. However, another user can successfully logon to the same
workstation without any problems. (They have the same privilege and in the
same domain group)
Here is the log.winbind for the user who successfully logon to the
workstation:
