I don't see any problem creation external snapshots (or more correctly: "overlays"). Deletion of external snapshots involves a bit more work, but it is scriptable as well. [...] -- /kashyap

Looking for gfs2-kmod SRPM
I'm searching for the SRPM corresponding to this installed RPM. % yum list | grep gfs2 gfs2-kmod-debuginfo.x86_64 1.92-1.1.el5_2.2 It is missing from: http://msync.centos.org/centos-5/5/os/SRPMS/ What I need from the SRPM are the patches. I'm working through some issues using the source code, and the patches in the RedHat SRPM

Performance before and after optimization
...not currently indexing until I optimize the index. In order to work around this, I index in bulk and immediately optimize. This is not ideal for the performance of my site. Unfortunately, contrary to what Dave Balmain seems to say here: http://osdir.com/ml/lang.ruby.ferret.general/2006-08/msg00037.html , the index seems to be locked for reading during optimization. So I have two questions: 1) Why does the performance degrade so badly after adding just a few records, unless I optimize the index? Can I avoid this? 2) Can I keep a second index so that it doesn''t get locked duri...

[PATCH] v2v: copy all driver files into guest
Some virtio-win drivers contain more files than just *.{cat,inf,sys}. They are filtered out currently, which prevents the drivers from being installed by PnP. Stop filtering driver files by extension, and copy all of them instead. network misbehaviour with gplpv and 2.6.30
With GPLPV under 2.6.30, GPLPV gets the following from the ring: ring slot n (first buffer): status (length) = 54 bytes offset = 0 flags = NETRXF_extra_info (possibly csum too but not relevant) ring slot n + 1 (extra info) gso.size (mss) = 1460 Because NETRXF_extra_info is not set, that''s all I get for that packet. In the IP header though, the total length is 1544 (which in itself
