Panic in dovecot 1.2.beta1
...s
encountered the panics in the log.
dovecot -n is attached as dovecot-n.txt. At first I thought it was a
locking issue as .lock files were being left behind, so I changed
pop3_lock_session to no, and restarted dovecot, but this didn't help
so I reverted to 2.1.11.

fstat(mboxname.lock) failed: Bad file descriptor
...ink I need it. I put it in a long time ago to attempt to solve a
problem that was actually caused by something else. Since removing it
does seem to avoid this issue, I will leave it out, but I'm reporting
this anyway as it seems there may be some underlying problem.

Testing 2.0b3 - problem with pop3
I am testing the version on FreeBSD 7.3-PRELEASE (I doubt it's the issue)
and I am having a problem with pop3. Here is what I see in the log when I

Mailbox locking issue?
...ith default dovecot mbox_write_locks should have been deadlock
and time out rather than what we see.
Also it seems that dovecot should recover from the 'corrupt' mailbox
and fix it rather than just continuing to encounter the same problem.
Any ideas or advice?

...but that doesn't work. Do I need both

Also, are the comments describing these in the example .conf file
correct, or are they reversed.

Failed IMAP Login Attempts in Logs
I had a user telling me that they can't login to the Postfix email
server via Webmail (RoundCube) and I decided to see if I could locate
this issue in the logs and understand if the user was simply using a
wrong password credential and or something more serious. More than
likely the person is just using a wrong password but in search of this
on my logs, I don't understand why Dovecot

Question about SASL auth
...ith Dovecot 1.2.10, I rarely if ever saw these failures.
Is this a case of the socket being in use when another auth request
arrives or is it something else? And if it is the socket in use, is
there some change in 2.0.beta that would cause the socket to be busy
longer?

Some Dovecot LDA version sends MDN rather than DSN for overquota.
...DA nor do I have any
access to the system where the notice in the bug report was received,
so I may have incomplete information and this may not be relevant to
current versions of Dovecot, but I think it is wrong for Dovecot to
report over quota non-delivery via an MDN.
