whither mplayerplug-in?
I have rpmfusion set up, but yum tells me that mplayerplug-in is not
available.
Has it been replaced by something else?

RPMforge mplayerplug-in seems to be locking up my sound device
Got home from vacation last night and ran yum update. Among other
things installed was mplayerplug-in-3.25-1.el4.rf ... now any time I
attempt to view CNN video, my sound device locks up -- I eventually
end up having to kill firefox, and anything thereafter that attempts
to access sound (such as system-config-soundcard) also ends up wedged.
Previously this only happened sporadically and after s...

Multimedia on Centos 5
Dear friends:
Is there a single source for the multimedia applications that are not included
with Centos 5: RealPlayer, Mplayer, mplayerplug-in, Acrobat Reader, Java,
libdvdcss, etc.?
Would appreciate your help.
Thank you so much.

[C6] Some typical apps missing?
Hi everyone! :-)
I just installed CentOS 6 on one of my desktop machines, and yum now
tells me that some of my favorite apps are not present in any of the
repositories I configured. To name a few: ktorrent, kile, krusader,
pavucontrol, mplayerplug-in (or is it now gecko-mediaplayer), xine,
xmms, and so on... All these apps were readily available for C5, and I
used them happily.
I am mostly surprised with the absence of *any* torrent client, bar
the rtorrent (which doesn't have a man page and I have no idea how to
use it). Also kile, kru...

nspluginwrapper included in CentOS 5.2 fails completely
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
I run CentOS 5.2 x86_64 on my workstation at home. Since 5.2 came out
with nepluginwrapper bundled into it, none of my plugins work. I
thought it was just a problem with the flash plugin, but neither the
mplayerplug-in plugins nor the adobe acrobat reader plugin work,
either.
I have this problem both with the Seamonkey contributed 64-bit build
and my own (otherwise perfectly working) native build of the 2.01a
pre-release trunk build (which I have been using since January, with
occasional updates, the most rec...

Seamonkey (with plugins) as Firefox replacement?
...s me
entire satisfaction: light on RAM, fast, and (almost) never crashes. So
the idea is simple: install Seamonkey instead of Firefox.
Now I'd like to integrate things cleanly, not install it additionally to
Firefox. My main concern now are plugins, namely Flash (flash-plugin)
and MPlayer (mplayerplug-in, never knew why that hyphen wandered off
:o)). I'd like to do things cleanly, so I have a vague idea. Tell me if
this sounds reasonable:
1) Install Seamonkey from latest SRPM.
2) Install flash-plugin from SRPM, but modify the .spec file so it
depends on Seamonkey instead of Firefox.
3) D...

VMWare Server doesn't like new CentOS installation?
I just got a nice, shiny new machine at work, a Core 2 Duo, on which I
just finished installing CentOS 5.2 with a fair number of packages,
SeaMonkey 1.1.10, Adobe Reader 8.0, Adobe Flash 9.0, mplayer,
mplayerplug-in (both from rpmforge), and I think that was it. Then I
went and got the latest VMWare Server, 1.0.7, from VMWare, pulled down
their rpm, installed it, and ran vmware-config.pl, which is what I
have to do (at home) after every new kernel install, too.
Except, this time it failed:

Difficulties with Seamonkey plugins on 5.2
...lib64/mozlilla/plugins - I think that's right - to the
relevant plugins directory. This worked until 5.2, or at least
Seamonkey reports that the plugins are installed. (The AR8 plugin has
serious problems, haven't gone all the way back to the AR7.9 plugin
yet, and I haven't tested the mplayerplug-in yet, but the critical one
is the flash plugin because so many web pages have flash videos on
them these days.)
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

question on mplayer playing dvd amd 64 on centos 5
Gents,
I can compile mplayer on centos 4.5 AMD 64 in native 64 bit mode and it
plays the dvd,
and also compile for 32 bit mode "gcc -m32" on it also plays the dvd.
"mplayer dvd://1".
I can compile mplayer on centos 5 AMD 64 in native 64 bit mode and it
plays the dvd.
However, when I compile in 32 bit on AMD 64 centos 5 I cannot play the dvd.
I get:

Totem Can't Read .wmv Files
When I try to read a .wmv file, I get the error message:
"Totem could not play 'file://tmp/F15.wmv'. You do not have a
decoder installed to handle this file. You might need to install the
necessary plugins.'
Granted that I am missing something, what is it, and where do I get it /
install it?

Multimedia setup for LTSP
Hi all,
I'm setting up a CentOS 4 in AMD64 box. The goal is to mount a terminal
server with LTSP software. Currenlty I'm in troubles with the multimedia
support. I've added Dag's, Karanbir's and Dries' repositories according
that.
?Is there some intention to make a multimedia group as others groups
(FTP Server, Web Server... etc)? It would be great.
?What packages do you
