Multipath-root (mpath) problems with CentOS 5
Hi list! I have a server with dual port Qlogic iSCSI HBA. I set up the same LUN for both ports, and boot the CentOS installer with "linux mpath". Installer detects multipathing fine, and creates mpath0 device for root disk. Installation goes fine, and the system boots up and works fine after the install from the multipath root device. After install the setup is like this: LUN 0 on port 1: /dev/sda LUN 0 on port 2: /dev/sdb and those form mpath0 device, which works OK. But then comes the probl...

ISCSI help
...the technology I am trying to find out exactly what can and can not be manipulated, filesystem wise, without requiring a reboot. I am using the inbuilt software ISCSI initiator and multipathing in CentOS 5.1. My steps so far. Create 10GB volume on SAN # iscsiadm -m session -R # fdisk /dev/mapper/mpath0 # kpartx -a /dev/mapper/mpath0 # mke2fs -j /dev/mapper/mpath0p1 # mount /dev/mapper/mpath0p1 /test-mount <--works fine to here--> Now I want to extend the volume on the SAN to 15GB run fdisk and use resize2fs to extend the filesystem, is this possible without a reboot? Currently, I don't...

Mount fails with error status -22?
...zled. I looked through the mailing list archive and some other sources but doesn't seem like anything anyone encountered. I have two systems with attached HP SAN. I'm using SLES 10.1 with multipath-tools. When trying to mount OCFS2 device I get this: SERVER:/ # mount.ocfs2 /dev/mapper/mpath0 /mnt/temp/ mount.ocfs2: Invalid argument while mounting /dev/mapper/mpath0 on /mnt/temp/. Check 'dmesg' for more information on this error. So when I check dmesg I get: (8854,0):ocfs2_initialize_super:1418 ERROR: couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (10). (8854,0):o...

IBM Storwize V3700 storage - device names
Hello, I have IBM Storwize V3700 storage, connected to 2 IBM x3550 M4 servers via fiber channel. The servers are with QLogic ISP2532-based 8Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA cards and run Centos 5.10 When I export a volume to the servers, each of them sees the volume twice, i.e /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc, with the same size. Previously I have installed many systems with IBM DS3500 series of

kickstart install on SAN with multipath
...cs/5/html/5.1/Installation_Guide/s1-kickstart2-options.html -- multipath (optional) multipath --name= --device= --rule= -- I have a multipath.conf which works fine when I install to local disk, I'm not sure what I should put in the options above, perhaps something like multipath --name=mpath0 --device=sda --device=sdb --rule= ??? Done tons of searches and can't find anything. Any idea what "rule" would map to in multipath.conf ? I've even installed the anaconda package and grepped through the code and can't find anything useful. thanks nate

SUN Storage 7310 with RHEL 5.5 / Centos 5.5 and multipathed root, again.
...ss successfully now. Unfortunately one issue remains: the SUN 7310 has two storage heads, H1 and H2, which are in a active/passive configuration. If I define a LUN on H1, everything works great. XAPI on debian installation issue
Hi, I''m currently trying to install xapi on debian (unstable), following the following wiki page: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XAPI_on_debian 1. Install squeeze 32-bits (it''s not specified on the wiki, but I guess it wont work with 64-bit as the xapi *.deb files are for 32). note: you must leave an unused 1mb partition somewhere when creating your
