Playback of sound files but no sound
Hello,
I'm running asterisk-1.0.6 on a centos3.4 box.
I'm still in testing phase and so far everything is running smoothly.
I'm now trying to play a soundfile or an mp3file using 'MP3Player',
'Playback'
or the 'Background' commands, but don't get any sound.
The logfile says:
-- Executing BackGround("SIP/joa-9def", "tt-weasels") in new stack
-- Playing 'tt-weasels' (language 'en')
Are the sound dri...

syntax for playlist
few questions:
What would be the correct syntax for mp3 names with spaces ex:
/mp3Files/Album Name/Name of the song.mp3
Is it necessary for files or mp3's to be in a directory that can be read by everyone?

compilling error ices-0.2.3.tar.gz
...t. I decided to install the latest ices from cvs instead.
However I encountered another problem.
I have the latest libshout, icecast and ices. All were compilled without problems. I am trying to
stream in mp3 format but when I run ices I receive errors that read something similar to
'/path/to/mp3file/song.mp3 - possibly corrupt or malformed data'.
The entire playlist will cycle through then ices will quit. These are the same files I used with
older versions of icecast and ices successfully. Unfortunately I am not at the server so I can't
produce an ices config file or the exact error....

[wolfgang@rohdewald.de: Bug#274700: flac: --export-vc-to should quote strings containing spaces]
...e strings are not
quoted. If they were, using metaflac in scripts would be much easier
like in
eval `metaflac --export-vc-to - "$flacfile"`
id3 -A "$ALBUM" -t "$TITLE" -a "$ARTIST" -y "$DATE" -g "$GENRE" -T "$TRACKNUMBER" "$mp3file"
Now I need to do this nasty workaround:
eval `metaflac --export-vc-to - "$flacfile" | sed s'/=/="/' | sed 's/$/"/'`

Are you using ices 0.x or ices 2.x? Ices 2 does not do MP3.
Geoff.

using ezstream with stdin
I'm having a hard time not getting mp3 data to ezstream via stdin fast
enough. The vb.net application I'm writing, ezstream and icecast are all
running on the same machine (Widows XP). Some where in the process, a
buffer empties out and that results in a drop out when you are
listening. Usually the dropout happens at a song change.
At first I was chunking up the data according to bit
