Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I
couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've
thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was
something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a
couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly.

Icecast 2.3 RC3 Announcement..
Thanks to everyone who has been helping us test... your input is certainly
appreciated.
We've fixed a few bugs and are release RC3 as of now.
Here's what was fixed :
- log username to access log (bug #706) if available.
- fix segv case on listmounts/moveclients when a fallback to file stream is
running
- Patch from martin@matuska.org: don't treat all clients as duplicates.

if the DJ mountpoint has a fallback to an existing stream like the
never-ending playlist then the existing listeners will switchover. Whats
missing is the automatic taking of listeners on re-connection, but that
can be done manually through the web interface using the moveclients
mechanism

Redirect listeners and fallback
...o be
able to move the listeners to a mountpoint showing "brb" at the cofee
breaks.
We have tried using the fallback option, the clients (sometimes) goes to
the fallback mount point, but it never comes back when the stream is
reconnected.
We also tried moving "by hand" using moveclients.xsl, in that case the
player freezes complaining it's a broken stream (tried mplayer, vlc and
totem).
This issues happen both with the stock icecast from debian and ubuntu
and with the last kh branch.
Please let me know if I should clarify any point or add aditional
information.
Thanks...

URL authentication
'The work' are you referring to http://svn.xiph.org/icecast/branches/kh ?
Most important is that I shouldn't have to edit the icecast
configuration file when a new mountpoint needs to be added. Therefor all
authentication of source and listener should go through the URL's.

mountpoint configuration beyond the basics?
Hello,
I'm new to icecast, but in few time I setup a streaming system using a
raspberry pi as stream source through darkice towards my icecast server.
All seemed fine with the basic mountpoint configuration, but when I
tried to try some of the more "advanced" features I failed badly.
More specifically:
1. I tried to force a failback mountpoint like this:

fallback source give up and returns to original source
Hello,
I have a problem with icecast
a have a source+ a fallback source
when source disconnect after a network interruption, all lilsteners are transfered to the fallback source
but then, a few seconds later, source come back and didn't get back its previous listeners.
Is there a way to have this behaviour :
source disconnect => listeners transfered to fallback
source reconnects =>

Need Help
Hi,
We realized that there are certain parameters within icecast that request
specific directory path
address for the program to connect upon start up...we are now trying to find
an icecast.pid file
but we have not been able to find it in any of the directories. Do you know
were we can find that
file?
Thank you,
Luis Barrett

You're probably missing the libcurl.so library in your chroot jail

You'll have to wait until 2.1 is released (which should have this feature) if
you want to use it without having to patch the source code yourself.

Icecast 2.2.0 RC1 Announcement
Just wanted to let everyone know that we are prepping for a 2.2.0

first, and if no bugs are reported, these will become the official

issues or bug-reports to the mailing list or http://trac.xiph.org/
until the mirrors get updated, please download the release
