If I understand your question correctly, then the 'mountpoints' command lists what is mounted, eg: $ guestfish -c qemu:///system -d F16x64 -i --ro Welcome to guestfish, the libguestfs filesystem interactive shell for editing virtual machine filesystems. Mountpoints
I've been thinking about mountpoints recently. There have been a few problems related to them: - If dbox mails and indexes are in different filesystems, and index fs isn't mounted and mailbox is accessed -> Dovecot rebuilds indexes from scratch, which changes UIDVALIDITY, which causes client to redownload mails. All mails wi...

Problem with the use of domfsfreeze mountpoint option
Hi everybody, I am having a problem with the use of domfsfreeze command. It is freezing all the filesystems present on the domain, instead of freezing just the mountpoints provided. I am issuing the command-- # virsh domfsfreeze <domain> --mountpoint <mountpoint> Output was-- Froze 3 filesystem(s) I want to freeze a particular mount point on the VM, so that i can take a snapshot using my own snapshot feature. ...ris 10u8 Sparc system using the included gcc compiler. Version 2.0.0 compiled with out any issues using the same configure syntax. My ./configure syntax looks like this: ./configure --with-ssl=openssl --with-shadow Yahoo and Google searches turned up nothing for me. Reviewing the file mountpoint.c between version 2.0.0 and 2.0.2 shows the files to be identical, so I have a problem somewhere else, I am just not sure where. SUMMARY: mounting datasets from a read-only pool with aid of tmpfs
Hello all, I''d like to report a tricky situation and a workaround I''ve found useful - hope this helps someone in similar situations. To cut the long story short, I could not properly mount some datasets from a readonly pool, which had a non-"legacy" mountpoint attribute value set, but the mountpoint was not available (directory absent or not empty). In this case I could neither create/cleanup the mountpoints, nor change the dataset properties to mountpoint=legacy. After a while I managed to override a higher-level point in the FS tree by mounting...

Forcing ZFS options
There are times when ZFS options can not be applied at the moment, i.e. changing desired mountpoints of active filesystems (or setting a mountpoint over a filesystem location that is currently not empty). Such attempts now bail out with messages like: cannot unmount ''/var/adm'': Device busy cannot mount ''/export'': directory is not empty and such....

I can't seem to create mountpoint and change permissions after mounting in 2.7.3
Hi, I''m using puppet 2.7.3 on RHEL/CentOS and I have an issue which is now a big blocking issue within my environment. What I''m trying to accomplish wit puppet is a create a mountpoint, mount a filesystem on it and install an application on that filesystems are set proper user/ group and permissions on it, but it fails big time. The issues I currently run into are about 3 things 1. The file type does not allow multiple directories to be created at once (''mkdir -p...

[PATCH] fuse: Add guestmount-cleanup program to handle unmounting (RHBZ#916780).
...at use the mount-local API[1] directly. (For various reasons 'guestfs_umount_local' isn't a usable API in most situations). My second implementation is the patch attached. It adds a new program called guestmount-cleanup which can be used two ways: guestmount-cleanup --fd=<FD> mountpoint where it will monitor the pipe file descriptor <FD>. (I should note that I've never actually tested this code path). Or: guestmount-cleanup mountpoint where it immediately unmounts the mountpoint. In both cases it deals with fusermount retries. The patch is still large and clunky...

order bug, legacy mount and nfs sharing
Hi, I''ve encountered this bug: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=108316&tstart=30 and to obviate to the problem I''m using legacy mounts. Now the system boot without problems, but nfs server doesn''t start because couldn''t find any share. So I''ve disabled nfs with zfs set sharenfs=off on my zfs filesystems and tried

Since the first patch: - The program is now called 'guestunmount'. - I tested the --fd option and it appears to work. - You can now control retries / quiet. - Revised man pages. - Includes tests. I'm just running through the automated tests now. Rich.

[PATCH] v2v: rework free space check in guest mountpoints
- move the space needed by mountpoint mapping to an own function, outside of the checking loop - remove the minimum limit of 100M on partitions, since existing partitions that we check (e.g. /boot) may be smaller than that - in case /boot is not on a separate mountpoint, enforce the space check on the root mountpoint inst...
