Your mountinfo should have \134\134 not \\.

extlinux device trouble
Hello,
i'm using version 4.07.
On my computer extlinux does not work.
after debugging, i found the trouble.
in the function parse_mountinfo there was using a function get_string.
in the function get_string there was a line (42) } else if (ch == '\\') {
but in my mountinfo list, there was \ , but not with octal digit.
so the function get_string will fail.
here are some information

Suggestion for sticky-compression mount setting (default mount options)
As I''ve been using btrfs with an external USB drive, I wonder how to
handle efficiently the compression setting. When I plug a drive in to
ubuntu, it is automatically mounted. Its mounted without the
compression option as its not in fstab. I don''t see it as desirable to
install each usb drive in fstab on each computer that it may be used
just so that compression is

Boot from CD -> system + data on USB storage
Hi,
I am looking for a solution to boot MY system on any PC.
To store most of the system and all of my data I want to use an USB
storage (in my case an external USB harddisk (2.0 capable)).
Since booting off an USB device is not an universal thing I would prefer
to have a boot disk with a minimal system - just enough to load most
(all?) of the system from the attached USB device.
Is this an

If I'm reading correctly, you feel the get_string() call on line 163
(retrieving the mount options for m->mountopt will return -1 due to
the double backslash). Am I correct? This seems rather odd that your
mount options have the DOS form of the UNC path.

Autorun is VERY bad
How to disable autorun? Are there any hidden autorun features on a standard CentOS install??

text-mode system and /media
I'm running a headless server, so no GUI, just ssh logins. I don't seem to
have the mechanism that automounts USB drives to a subdirectory of /media,
and from googling around I think that's a feature of a GUI-based system.
What implements it? Right now I manually create a mountpoint in /mnt and
then manually mount by label from /dev/disk/by-label after plugging the
drive in. It
