Its my first time installing icecast...and i'm having problems
...hing along those lines. Does this have something to do with my deny/allow settings? Also, when I do a 'sources' it lists that there is a source on mountpoint 0. The web admin function isnt working either. I try to connect to it and the verbose logs say "denied www admin (hostmask) [no mountfile]". What is a mountfile and how do I specify one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Icecast admin interface
...st web admin interface. My icecast.conf file contains : acl_policy 1 deny all * allow all *.via.ecp.fr When connecting to my admin interface, I get a 403 error message ( You don't have access to this entity (stream or file).), and icecast says "Kicking unknown 48 [mallet.via.ecp.fr] [No mountfile found], connected for 0 seconds". There is no firewall running on the system (debian woody, kernel 2.4.18), and by the way sources and listeners can connect with no problem. Any help welcome... ...rently so. Thanks... I can't fiddle with the actual stream at the moment, but I'm successfully streaming individual files now. One question... when I try to check the web admin, I get a forbidden message in the browser, and the following in the server log: -> [04/Feb/2002:14:38:45] No mountfile found, refusing access to WWW admin for <my-work-ip.com> I'm missing the connection between mountfiles and accessing the web admin page. As far as I can tell, I have no mountpoints configured. --- Julia Lunetta Listen to my music collection... http://julial.dhs.org:8005/ <p>--- &...

&quot;Bind to socket failed&quot;
I'm running RedHat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.17) on a PII 300. I'm using Liveice with XMMS. I had no problem broadcasting with Shoutcast and Winamp back before I switched over to Linux. I'd love to get going on broadcasting... but Icecast refusing to open is a problem. Running icecast gives me the following. Starting thread engine... problem remotely loginning into web admin interface
...st base dir. I am starting icecast from the dir w/ just the "icecast" command. Appears to have no problems finding the config files. I get a "HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden" whenever I try to access the web interface w/ Explorer and a "Kicking unknown 1 [host.mydomain.com] [No mountfile found]" in my icecast log files. I have read the manual have searched the message achieves. I have found some posts but nothing that has remedied my problem. There might be an outside source affecting this (my firewall *is* configured to allow all incoming HTTP TCP request from my LAN) but if...

[ problem remotely loginning into web admin interface]
...cecast last week I had been unable to get the /admin to work. So today I looked into the code. From that exploration it seems that the *.aut files (or at least the mounts.aut) needs to be in the conf directory. If you follow the code in client.c line 176... char *secfile = get_icecast_file (info.mountfile, conf_file_e, R_OK); to the definition of conf_file_e. After a few assignments the value turns out to be "conf" in config.h line 94. BTW, I'm using the icecast-1.3.12 tar. I'm not sure why the etc dir is conf, but I didn't explore any further to see what would happen if I c...

Admin headaches
...I'm having some issues getting the admin page to work. I have setup the acl policy and hosts.allowed the same way as on the Debian box, but I can't figure out how to use the *.aut files. When I try to connect to the admin page, I get this: [31/Jan/2004:00:12:03] [11:Connection Handler] No mountfile found, refusing access to WWW admin for phoenix But I do have a mounts.aut in /etc/icecast. Is there any way to fix this, or any way to go back to the old way of handling admin access (just acl policy and hosts.allow)? And another weird thing. I can't telnet to localhost:8000 on the icecast...

hello i am running an icecast setup since a little while now and i am very convinced of the quality of this product. still i have 2 wishes or problems which seem almost unsolvable to me: 1: i don't know how i can convince icecast to make an offset position by streaming big static files. i.e. streaming big.mp3 not from start but one hour later: 60s*60mins*16000

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi Karl, Thanks for your help, About the "Connection:" header, you are right, it's: "Connection: close" and NOT "Connection: keep-alive". The protocol when the SERVER sends the data is http 1.0. It's http 1.1 when the browser requests the data. I don't understand the "Content-Length: 54000000" header either. Also I noticed the flash player on
