Problem installing/updating Rpmi
Hi
I have a few problems installing/updating packages with complicated
dependencies. For example, the Rmpi package:
update.packages(...)
checking for mpi.h... no
configure: error: "Cannot find mpi.h header file"
ERROR: configuration failed for package ?Rmpi?
So I tried:
>install.packages("Rmpi",configure.args="--with-mpi=/usr/lib/openmpi")

[LLVMdev] Installation problem
Hi,
It looks like the permissions aren't set for read access for non-root users. The command for fixing that is "chmod". If you look up chmod in the man pages of the Ubuntu help files it should give instructions on how to use it.
I hope this helps,

[LLVMdev] Installation problem
Hi,
This question should probably be sent to a LLVM Users list... if there
was such a list. Anyway, I have installed llvm and llvm-cfe through
Synaptic in Ubuntu but when I try to compile a test program it fails:
$ cat test.c
#include<stdio.h>
int main(void)
{
puts("test");
return 0;
}
$ llvmc test.c
exec: 14: /usr/lib/llvm/llvmc: Permission denied
$ llvmgcc test.c

YA-2496
Hi. I've been browsing the archive on this topic and only found a few
notes, all dating from a year ago (almost too precisely :) ) -- hope I
haven't skipped the mails on that matter, sorry if I did.
<p>Basically, I will get in the next few months a MOTU 896, that have 8
i/os in 24/96. I do pro sound recording, so it's more or less my
business to have such a piece.
Of course, everyone knows the files will be huge, at least uncompressed
(3x the size of a conventional CD, and that's for stereo). I'll remix
in full quality. But once I...

...t this script is,
and I do not know if it has been ported to Ubuntu.
If someone was able to walk me through the steps necessary to build new
Ubuntu (Debian ?) packages, and someone (else ?) could put them in the
Right Place(s) (I'm neither a Debian Ordained Maintainer (C)(R)(TM) nor
an Ubuntu MOTU (ditto)), I could pick the work of either building the
new amd64 packages or checking them.
Would you be so kind as to Cc' me : I'm following the lists through the

column and line graphs in R
Hi all,
I would love to plot my data with R. I have abundance and frequency of fungal
taxonomic data that should be plotted in the same graph. In Microsoft Excel
is that possible but the graphic result is, as always, very poor. Is there
a function that may let me plot these data in R?
I have a matrix made of two columns, on is the relative abundance and the
other is the relative frequency for

...orts the file as true 24-bit and quits
early. If it scans the entire file without finding any 24-bit
values, it gives the sad news that it's really 16-bit samples
disguised as 24.
By the way, I had to special-case 0x00800001 and treat it as 16-bit.
I don't know whether it was the MOTU 896HD or Logic, but something
was creating that one value in the midst of an otherwise 16-bit pure
file. But there are tens of millions of other 24-bit values, so
ignoring that one won't create a false report.

Best way to handle multiple (6+) streams
I have a need to stream 6 or 8 different audio sources (radios), and am
seeking suggestions on the best way to do it. Although I'd like to stream
each separately, I could combine them to stereo streams and do 2 on each.
I'd like to know what the best hardware configuration would be to accomplish
this? Are there any multiple input sound cards that have been successfully
tested, or

Best way to handle multiple (6+) streams
Could you use something like a MOTU firewire box to input all your
streams into one computer? They have lots of audio inputs.
I don't know anything about the practicalities I'm afraid, so no idea
how to turn those inputs into separate streams. But I'd much rather do
that than run 8 separate computers.

I've looked around for a unix solution and haven't found much. I was
thinking about trying to use a system with a soundcard or three, and maybe
a midi controlled mixer (I think MOTU made a 1u rackmount midi controlled
8 stereo port mixer or such). Not really an elegant solution though, but
we could make a table that has the song name and weather or not to do a
cross fade or a hard cut (some songs end on a cymbal crash or whatever).
I was looking at NetJukebox or such, some ph...
