iaxy vs sipura
I need a cheap simple adaptor for analog phones to use with Asterisk. It should be some kind of "configure and forget" type of device, to use at the office, or just throw it in a road warrior's bag and use it while travelling, to call back to the "mothership". I can't decide between iaxy and sipura. Can you guys help? Which one would you use? (and why?) I feel that iaxy might have an advantage while piercing through NAT firewalls (at hotels and such), because of IAX, but i could be wrong. Or can you recommend something else? -- Florin Andre...

Fax and dial-up connection issues
...s without giving a transmission error and sending garbage to the other end. Not connecting at all (and stating COMMUNICATION ERROR) is not uncommon. As of dial-up connections, of course I'm not expecting to get 33600 on that, but this customer has some dedicated systems that must dial the "mothership" and use low speeds like 9600. I also have echocancelwhenbridged=no set up on all PRI and FXS channels. I really don't know what else I could do to solve the problem. xpp_sync is set to DAHDI so the same sync received from telco is used on the FXS ports. For the TE420, only two spans are...

Wish list - Windows RGui (PR#6492)
...It would be nice to have a 'help menu' item that pointed at the R-Project home page: http://www.r-project.org/ (opening a browser like the FAQ menu items display local files). This wish comes from a Windows RGui newbie user who frequently needs to use the plentiful resources on the "mothership" to figure out what he is doing wrong while inside R. Thanks for considering it.

Icecast is cool, but how about video?
Just to understand what you'd call "free": Is the client that you use free as well? =) Imho not, and it's quite annoying to see this trial-reminder... Fw: app_swift issue
Hi Shakeel, I had the same problem building app_swift (1.6..) myself and searched the web far-and-wide for a solution. I eventually contacted Darren Sessions -- who was maintaining that plug-in -- about a month ago. He was involved in another project and said he might be able get to it after a few weeks. But, since then, his website http://www.darrensessions.com/ has gone out of comission. I
