another demoting that doesn't work
...oot at DC1:/var/log/samba# samba-tool domain demote -Uadministrator
ERROR: Current DC is still the owner of 2 role(s), use the role command
to transfer roles to another DC
root at DC1:/var/log/samba#
It seems there have been two threads lately on this same subject (by
Fernando Rodriguez and Petr MOTEJLEK). Could it be that there is a
problem in samba itself?
In both threads, two roles remained on the to-be-demoted DC. Seems a bit
too coincidental, doesn't it?

Samba 4.1.7 seems slow when calculating access rights
...hesitate to ask for anything. Even though I don't like it, I can keep the force user = root parameter on the share for a while, but I want to get rid of that as soon as possible, on the same hand. So I will try to provide as much detail as you guys want.
Thank you all and have a nice day,

Samba 4 + Windows XP very slow - especially noticeable with many files
Hi,
After our upgrade from Samba 3.x to 4.1.6 we are having major
performance issues. Today, I've been able to nail it down to a simple
test case.
What strikes me is that Windows XP takes about 25 seconds for one job,
while it only costs 3 seconds on Windows 7.
I have two tests:
1000 files of 10k each (total ~10Mb):
* Linux on localhost or a remote host (1GE or 10GE): 5.5 seconds
*
