Could it be that there is a problem in samba itself? In both threads, two roles remained on the to-be-demoted DC. Seems a bit too coincidental, doesn't it? MJ

...hesitate to ask for anything. Even though I don't like it, I can keep the force user = root parameter on the share for a while, but I want to get rid of that as soon as possible, on the same hand. Hi, After our upgrade from Samba 3.x to 4.1.6 we are having major performance issues. Today, I've been able to nail it down to a simple test case. What strikes me is that Windows XP takes about 25 seconds for one job, while it only costs 3 seconds on Windows 7.
