When I try to import an spss sav file with read.spss() I am getting the following error 'Error in read.spss("X:\\xxxx.sav") : error reading system-file header' and the import process is aborted. Dear people, I have got a question concerning the underlying numerical codes when reading an SPSS file into R. I used the package foreign and when I look at a variable I get the verbal codes.
