Dovecot dies, maybe ntpdate related. I'm new to dovecot
...not a "soft time drift"
installing the full ntp daemon, but I start thinking the time-jump
crashes dovecot.
QUESTIONS:
- Might this time-jump cause dovecot to die?
- I don't know wehere the dovecot logs are written to. Where do I start
searching?
Thanks to all!
Xavi.

Reccomended user? Root or "normal"?
.../dev/dsp to that
user, but what about TCP/IP ports? Will it be able to run normally
or I have to run it as root?
Will this help in the stability of the system? This would allow a
crash to only crash the user's memory space and not the system's
space.
Any suggestion is welcome.

-c Option
Hello all. I've been using rsync for quite some time and when I
originally began using it I was religious about including the -c option.
I've read the man page and noticed the significant performance hit I take
in using it. I was wondering if someone would be able to clarify for me
what the benefits are in using this option. Why would someone want to?
I can't quite remember why I

List of "digipeaters" (like live365) needed (aka BW providers).
I need a "complete" list of "reliable" services for repeating the
signal of a station to the listeners (live radio). The situation
is that a station will be doing live radio and has a little DSL
connection and external bandwith will be required.
I don't mind if it costs much or it is cheap, I now just want to
join information to say my customer: You have all this coices,

a new directory service
So I've been doing some research and thinking here and there about what
a _good_ directory service for icecast would be like. I'd appreciate
some feedback and some discussion on this topic, before I start putting
a lot of effort into developing it.
First off, I think getting rid of # of listeners is a must. It just
creates a self-fulfilling prophecy and encourages cheating. I think the

Also people do in live radio, don't they?
What happens if in internet radio the DJ "talks" over the song
invalidating it for recording-and-pirate-selling? Do those
rules still apply?

However, I am definitely seeing rsync hanging. I'm rsyncing from a

Again, in Spain there is no rule in this sense... I mean, a normal
air-FM/AM station can receive a call for a song and play it
inmediately.
What happens if this spanish station
