monochrome mosaic plot in vcd package
...I wouldn't know where to start to incorporate into a legend. The shading_binary function is no good as I would like the cells with residuals less than absolute 2 to be different from other cells. How would readers of this list represent a mosaic plot so that it was easily interpretable in monochrome? My data can be used as an example: library(vcd) library(MASS) term.1 <- gl(2,1,8, labels = LETTERS[1:2]) term.2 <- gl(2,2,8, labels = LETTERS[3:4]) term.3 <- gl(2,4,8, labels = LETTERS[5:6]) cell.count <- c(72, 19, 5, 8, 117, 115, 81, 85) mosaic(loglm(formula = cell.count ~ term....

Printing from R Console in colour
Hi,I want to be able to print in colour from the R console i.e. commands (in navy) with results (in red) as on the console.   From the console if I click on File -> Print, the commands with results print on my printer but only in monochrome, not in colour. Similarly, if I Edit -> Select All, Edit -> Copy --- and paste into Word, the commands and results are only in monochrome, not in colour. How do I enable R to print commands and results in colour? Thanks [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

C7 Desktop background
...d shows just fine, but when I select any window/app, my desktop reverts to gray. I have tried resetting the desktop background but it does not remove this aberration. Any gnome gurus out there that can point me to the gnome foo required to get my desktop looking 21st century and not like my old monochrome Windows386 circa late 1980's. Thanks Rob

Reading a TIFF file
Dear all, I have been trying to speed up a process we have been done in ArcGIS. We have to read a single layer TIFF (monochrome image) in . For this, I have used the "rtiff" package. After reading the TIFF file, I compared the raw values for each pixel that I have in ArcGIS to the ones obtained in R. In ArcGIS I have discrete values in the range 0..255, while in R I have continuous values between 0..1. This, in it...

X11 Device Driver
I have made some modifications to the X11 graphics driver so that it is more flexible about its use of colors. I have added a new parameter to the X11/x11 function which controls this. The parameter is currently called "colormodel" and works as follows: colormodel = 0 Monochrome graphics colormodel = 1 Grayscale (256 shades) colormodel = 2 Pseudocolor1 colormodel = 3 Pseudocolor2 colormodel = 4 Truecolor Pseudocolor1 allocates as big a color cube as possible and then approximates requested colors with colors from the cube. Pseudocolor2 allocates colors "on-d...

[LLVMdev] Cross-compiling LLVM on Mac OS X
...ob P.S. One extra fly in the ointment is that I’m building against the Mac OS X 10.5 SDK on a 10.6 machine, to accomplish which I am setting CFLAGS to -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.5. Omitting this doesn’t change the result, however. -- Rob Rix, Unknown Quantity Monochrome Industries

Thanks very much for your help, everyone; if no one objects, I will make a page on the LLVM wiki about fat builds for OS X. Sincerely, Rob -- Rob Rix, Unknown Quantity Monochrome Industries

ggplot2: Changing colour scheme for bar plot filling?
Hello, I'd like to sitch to a monochrome/bw color-palette for the filling of geom_bar-bars (produced via "qplot" as in the example below). Hours of googling didn't yield anything useful, so I thought, I'd just ask ... Thanks, Joh library(ggplot2) qplot(factor(cyl), data=mtcars, geom="bar", fill=factor(cyl))

Creating a simple 1-row heatmap
Howdy, I am trying to make a simple monochrome heatmap from 1 row of data. Essentially, I just want a long bar where black represents the max value in the data, white is the minimum, and all values in between are interpolated appropriately. I have tried using heatmap and heatmap.2, but both have issues. heatmap seems to be restricted to only...

...rring to libLLVMCore.a & friends, or LLVM GCC? I wasn’t able to find the libraries in question in /usr/lib, /Developer, /System, or anywhere else I looked and searched. I am building a universal framework which needs to embed these libraries. Thanks very much, Rob -- Rob Rix, Unknown Quantity Monochrome Industries

VNC 'fix' for 256 colour game only shows 2 colours?
I'm trying to run an old (~1995) Windows game under Wine, but it requires 256 colours and won't work any higher. I've checked out the 256 colour hacks page and the X methods don't work, because I use the FGLRX drivers and they don't support 8bpp, so I'm trying VNC. I've installed vnc-server and vnc so I can play it through a 256 colour VNC connection, but so far I can

Background in lattice plots using dotplot()
...age R I can't seem to get rid of the slightly green background when I use dotplot(). It shows on the screen in the X11 device and when a postscript file is viewed with the Gimp or GhostView. Fortunately, it is too faint to print on a Xerox colour printer. However, if I attempt to make a monochrome bitmap file either using bitmap(type = "pngmono") or converting a postscript file, it comes up (and prints) as a very noticeable grey. I've tried specifically setting bg to "white" in every place I can think of, but without success. The problem doesn't appear when usin...

Icecast2 and TiVo
Hey guys, As some of you may or may not know, TiVo recently came out with an optional software package for their Series2 TiVo units. They call it "Home Media Option" and, among other things, it lets you play mp3s on your TiVo. So, some clever folks figure out that if you fed your TiVo and m3u playlist that pointed to an Internet stream, it would play that stream for you. Very

...ct type. Is there a simpler way to build a structure than to alloca a struct and store things into its fields? Or is the “{ i32 1, i32 2 }” thing only possible for 100% constant structs (I expect the answer is yes, just looking for verification (: )? How to send Image over asterisk sip
Hmm, most phones I've used wouldn't have the capability of displaying a bitmap image due to only having minimal monochrome displays. What sort of end device do you perceive to display these images? Can you give links to any devices with support for such things? I'm assuming you mean only a still-photo image, not video image. Perhaps you could use a video channel for this and simply display only a still image inst...
