CentOS 4.2 shipped runs just a little over $2K. Not really much more

configuration and resulting server performance.

The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the kerberized version of the login via LDAP on the directory Server. Shouldn't I get a Kerberos ticket for that ? If I activate kerberos AND ldap in system-config-authentication it fails :

CentOS on Compaq Proliant Rackmount Servers
Greetings,
Can anyone relate experience(s) installing CentOS on Compaq rack mount
servers units please?
Easy no problem, easy some issues, or ghastly do not do it under any
circumstances... ;)
Basically, I'm looking at some used/refurb dual PIII units and will run RAID
on Compaq built in SCSI or is it easy to pop in some 3ware SATA in them?
Let me know in terms of CentOS 3 and/or 4 please.

Have you ever talked to a surgeon?
It is not he who must adapt to the world, but the world that must adapt
to him.

I know . If I could change them .... but I'm in a public reality with a
limited budget. And in the IT sector, it invests less than 0.1% of its

off topic publication question
Dear R People:
Please excuse the off topic question, but I
know that I'll get a good answer here.
If a single author is writing a journal article,
should she use "We performed a test"
or "I performed a test",
please?
I had learned to use "we" without regard to the number
of authors. Is that true, please?
Thanks for the off topic help.
Sincerely,
Erin

nagios config gui
I'm starting to play around with nagios, as others already know the
configs are a pain lol. I looked at monarch but it needs mysql 4 and
also nagmin for webmin but either I dont have all the paths setup
correctly or it just doesn't work.
Anyone have a config gui that works on a standard CentOS3 install?

Centos 4.3: VPN recommend/ howto anyone?
Hi,
I'm just curious about setting up a new VPN here in the office part of our
enterprise, as well as a second in our 75+ node data center co-location
facility.
Needing to stomp out the ****dows L2TP node here, just too many
side-issues with config.
I'd like it to run the same OS as all of our servers, e.g. Centos 4.3.
Any recommedations on which software/server/client

Tyan Thunder K8SE S2892 Report
I had my eye on the Tyan dual-Opteron mobos for awhile. I tried to find

No such luck. So placing myself under the heading "Where Angles Fear to
