Subject: Samba and Seagate BackupExec
Hi Franck, to my knowledge, the Backup Exec service "runs" under a certain user. In most cases it is the user who installed it, so very often "Administrator". Now if you try to backup a Samba share, Backup Exec tries to retrieve the files of this share and has to authenticate to the Samba Server. I suspect it will do this with the "credentials" of the user the Backup

Strange Log-In Problem Samba 1.9.18
Hello, got a problem with logging into Samba shares, using NT WS SP4: Samba was set up working properly with several different users and several shares. Now I can't log in any more for one user. I see the server and I see the shares, but when I try to open one of the shares, I get the message "network path not found on server". However, I know the shares are there and the other

Samba not visible in NN with File and Print Services installed on W9x
Hi, maybe I missed a recent "FDP" (Frequently described problem)in the list, but maybe somebody can point me to the right direction. There were several postings about not seeing Samba but none referred the the MS "File and Print Services" on W9x clients being the cause of the trouble (Hope this is the correct translation from German W9x). I've got a Samba 2.0.5a with Suse
