deploying with mongrel (how to avoid using the port number)
Using fcgi it was possible to avoid having to specify the port number
when accessing a rails app by remapping the sub-domain to point to the
''public'' directory. Is this still possible when using mongrel?

Writing audio files (.wav) in a different directory
...ilename,min.ini,min.fin,"minutes")
writeWave(rec,"cut1.wav")
It is writing the file in the same directory of the "filename" object. What
I want to do is to write the "cut1.wav" file in a different folder.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

find the right (wine) path
wine version 20001002 running in rh7. installed and working.
Have a newbie question about command line paths to access windows apps.
No problem accessing anything in c:\windows eg freecell.exe by the simple
command # wine freecell.exe
the mount directory is named /dos (and is in /etc/wine/wine.conf under
Drive c) so I assume that the command
# wine /dos/agent/agent.exe should bring up the

Getting "Unable to set XATTR" on libvirt 5.6.0 inside containers
Hi,
We are updating KubeVirt to libvirt 5.6.0. Before that we were running on
5.0.0. It seems like something regarding setting xattrs on files has
changed, because with libvirt 5.6.0 we are getting the following error:
```
Unable to set XATTR trusted.libvirt.security.dac on
/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/domain-410-default_vmi-fedora: Operation not
permitted')
```
The main problem is for us is that

Flags in pam_password_change_required() (auth-pam.c)
Hi
I just "stumbled" over the flags settings in
pam_password_change_required().
As far as I looked over the OpenSSH code, setting/resetting the 2nd bit
in those flags from auth-options.c whould only make sense if the flags
are checked to be 0/1 in the remaining OpenSSH code.

API implementation "HOWTO"
Maybe my imagination is overactive, but I seem to remember reading some-
thing in the vein of a HOWTO/tutorial on adding a Win32 API call to
Wine. It discussed the SPEC file, header files, etc.
I've searched the winehq website and the source tree, but I can't seem
to find this. Anyone know what I'm thinking of?
Thanks!

Triggering program from a daemon
Hi,
I wish to run a Windows program under Linux. It will be triggered
from another program when nobody is logged in; in other words,
it won't need a GUI; it's just doing number crunching.
How do I configure Wine to do this? When I run the program it
just says, "Wine exited with a successful status", but it is supposed
to create files etc, and nothing is really done. (It

...libntdll.so - undefined symbol "wine_ldt_copy"
I'm running Mandrake 8.1 (Cooker).
I get the subject error when I try to start wine. I've tried the latest
wine version (20010629) and the next to latest version. Same result.
I've tried rebuilding wine on my machine. That's successful but error
remains
Anyone know what this is and how to make it go away?

Newbie Trying To Get Ghost Recon To Install
Hello,
I'm new to using WINE (and to these lists), so I apologize if this has
been asked and answered already: Has anyone been able to get Ghost Recon
to at least install? The autorun program came up just fine, but when I
click the button to install, it promptly quits. I tried running the
setup.exe program directly, and it gets as far as trying to setup and
install shield wizard, and then

mapping a directory
Hello All,
I have installed the latest Wine onto my Linux Redhat 7.2 and it
seems to run very well for the most part.
I can easily map a Linux directory to a Windows drive, but I actually
have a need to be able to map a linux directory to windows
subdirectory. About the only way that I can currently think of that
might work would be to use a symbolic link on the Linux subsystem.
cheers,
Lonnie
