modssl
I'm having some troubles getting modssl to work with wine. None of my programs that connect to the web via ssl work. I am using Red Hat 9.0, have both the modssl and modssl-devel rpms installed, yet they still don't work. I've tried both installing from source and using the redhat 9 rpms on the winehq.com website, and neither...

Help setting up SSL?
Hi, Sorry to bother, I don't know if this mailing list is the right place to look for help setting up dovecot.. Anyway I've got standard IMAP working fine, and I used mkcert.sh after editing the openssl config, and it seemed to work properly (I had to change some directories, I am using the FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT port).. Anyway, when I try to connect using Outlook, here is what the log

Compile vs. RPM
Hello CentOS, I'm an old hat, and have been compiling my own MySQL, Apache, PHP, OpenSSL, ModSSL, etc. for my webservers for years. I'm playing around with the RPM installs on CentOS, and have basically been able to get most things setup so that they "function" about the same. If I could stick to RPM's rather than compiling my own sources, it would save me a fair bit of tim...

Interaction bug between Puppet CA and mod_ssl
...t uses the client''s certificate, which of course fails, and doesn''t bother to try the CA''s certificate specified in its configuration file. This same issue was brought up on the mod_ssl mailing list 5 years ago, with no further discussion: http://www.mail-archive.com/modssl-users@modssl.org/msg14310.html I have not examined the mod_ssl code to be certain that this is in fact the problem. However, I have come up with a way of dealing with the problem, I made changes to the puppetca code to provide a configuration parameter allowing the Subject of the CA certificate t...

httpd failed with a new install of 5.0
Everyone, I have been working on a new installation of CentOS 5.0 on a x86_64 machine. The installation has gone well except for httpd. When I start httpd with LogLevel turned to debug all I get is an immediate failure with the following errors the logs: /var/log/httpd/error_log: [Sun Jul 22 13:00:31 2007] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec) /var/log/ssl_error.log:

OpenSSH and X.509 Certificate Support
Hi, I need to add X.509 Certificate support to OpenSSH. I came across the following post on the openssh-unix-dev mailing list that is very useful: http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=120298135706959&w=2 <http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=120298135706959&w=2> And also, http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=104395024824680&w=2

SSL [X.509] Authentication in Rails?
Been doing some research but haven''t been able to determine much - has anyone had any experience parsing incoming [on the request] x.509 certificates? Specifically, getting name, CA, etc. Here''s how you do in Java Servlets for reference: X509Certificate[] certs = (X509Certificate[]) request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.request.X509Certificate"); Thanks. --

FYI: new port security/portaudit-db
...ptional components c1 and c2. This *should not* result in the following package names: port-v port-suf1-v+v1 port-suf2-v+v2 port-suf1-suf2-v+v1+v2 because I need 2^(number of components) entries to catch all possible combinations, for example the recent vulnerability in www/apache13-modssl would need 32 entries in the vulnerability database, which seems a little high. A net effect is that many combinations are not recognized, and users remain unprotected even though they assume the opposite. If you need to record the included components, please do this in the pkg-message, which is...

apachectl gracefult causes Signal 11 crash after 6.3 to 7.0 upgrade [SOLVED]
It seems a php-extensions bug. If you comment the mhash.so in /usr/local/etc/php/extensions.ini as: ;entension=mhash.so all works fine and you don't get anymore httpd crash (signal 11) if you use 'apachectl graceful'. Maybe will be a good idea to open PR for this? I hope it helps someone.... (I'm very surprised that this isn't a documented bug in 7.0 yet) -- Thanks, Jordi

...s signed by the CA) to be authenticated without having to place anything in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file on the server.(i.e authenticate all users if they have a valid certificate without any subject line checking). In Apache this is very much possible via mod_ssl as described in http://www.modssl.org/docs/2.8/ssl_howto.html#ToC6 . Can a similar behavior be emulated in OpenSSH using the X.509 patch? Please let me know your comments. Thanks and Best Regards, Sankalp -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: OpenSSH and X.509 Certificate Support Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 17:21:26 +053...

recommended SSL-friendly crypto accelerator
Hi, I'm pondering building my own SSL accelerator out of a multi-CPU FreeBSD system and a crypto accelerator. What's the recommended hardware crypto accelerator card these days?
