Hi guys, I had a look in the sources about this problem. the problem seems to be the ldap_escape function that is called from ldap_verify_plain_auth_bind_userdn(..) I dont really know if this escaping is needed at this point, but with this change it works for me. No other problems discovered so far. could somebody, who is deeper in the sources give me a hint if this will make some troubles?

If I use another user I get a ERROR: Insufficient access: no write access to entry error and a .rej file is created. I'm trying to migrate my existing RedHat ES Samba PDC to Ubuntu. The RedHat version of Samba is 3.0.9 and the Ubuntu version is 3.0.14a. Everything was going fine until I tried to import the LDIF of the existing LDAP directory. The LDIF actually imports all of the structure (OU and Group definitions) and all of my users, but it fails when it comes to my first machine account with this
