Icecast installation
Hi there,
Is anyone available to help install an Icecast suite for me? By suite I mean
Icecast, Ices (or some other way to stream static files), and Icedir (a
directory server). Please e-mail me if you'd like to help (either for "thank
you" or pay).
Thanks, and best wishes.
Sincerely,
Katim

maybe silly question, but where's the difference in pointing
directly to the mp3-file instead to a *.m3u ?
besides, my netscape/linux seems to have problems with the suffix .m3u,
mime-type is set, but rather nothing happens. m3u is handled by plugger3.2

Bass response with Ogg Vorbis
...files. I have been using Sound
Forge 5.0d as a conversion tool, it includes libvorbis of 2-25-2001
(beta 3).
So check out what I am talking about. I have just remixed a bass
feature that is a song called "Where Have You Been", it's song number
11 in the Songs section of http://www.modernamericanmusic.com I would
encourage anyone interested to stream the MP3 file or download the Ogg
file from there.
If anybody really wants a copy of the 32 bit, 71 meg Wave file master,
contact me directly.

content on demand?
Hi,
Does Icecast support streaming on demand as Shoutcast does? i.e. if I have
some MP3 files in a directory, can these be streamed if I link to them on a
web page.
Thanks,
Glen

Getting the Stream to "Just Start Playing" on the client
Hmmm... Maybe I wasn't clear.
This is a public Web site. Some people are using Netscape, most using IE...
All different kinds of media players, mostly WinAmp, Real, WMP, and iTunes.
What I'm looking for is a way for the media player to be launched
automatically.
If I choose "Open from this location" from the link, WinAmp DOES open. .pls
files *are* mapped to WinAmp, I'd
