Total lockups using ext3
For several months I have had frequent lockups using 2.4.x kernels. They began with about 2.4.10 and have continued down to 2.4.17. They always occur when I am online, downloading. The moden stops, the hard disk light is on, and no key works. They never happen with 2.2.20 or with earlier (i.e. pre-ext3) 2.4 kernels, and they never occur on my laptop with any kernel, including those using ext3.

Red Alarm TE420 with E1s - R2
...stop giving me red alert. The lib chan_unicall.so is already available on the asterisk as my settings, but my problem is before the asterisk, I think. Below is the configuration of zaptel and get information that the module Zaptel (wct4xxp): The first three spans are configured (and connected to modens) but I am getting RED in zttool (end on the board leds) the fourth are not configured (commented). My suspicion is the cable RJ45 which did not (else one did), The baluns conversion are cisco. First question, as I am sure that the cables are correctly (RJ45) Built (Digium == RJ45 == balun === m...

Digium cards just for timing
Hi, I've found that neither Michael Manousos patch nor ztdummy driver do not fix musiconhold sound interruption problem up to acceptable quality level. Sound is choppy here anyway. It is my understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) that if I have a Digium card in my asterisk machine, these problems should be gone 'cause those cards provide some reliable timing. So I have no

New system for recording - SCSI, SAS or SATA?
I'm in the process of specifying the hardware for some new Asterisk systems which will be running a substantial number of conferences with recording. I was wondering what there is to choose between SCSI, SAS and SATA disks, in terms of performance for this kind of application. I will be using dual drives with kernel-based software RAID1. Any advice from experience would be appreciated!

Is the X100P a WinModem?
So I've been on the Asterisk list for a long time. Mostly looking to set it up as a cheap alternative to a commercial MeetMe bridge, as a for-fun project. I keep noticing the Wildcard FXO X100P sorta seems like a Winmodem. Winmodems are basically a sound card chip tied to a pots port, where the Winders driver takes on the MO/DEM functions in software. I've always despised them as a data
