PXELinux and Mess-DOS
...OBOOT.EXE distribution from
Intel:
Does anyone know what this means? It sounds like a generic network driver
for DOS exists. I have a copy of the PROBOOT.EXE, but I can't work it out.
If this is what I think it is, has anyone made it go or even better, made
a version that works with Bart's ModBoot network disk?

Thanks in advance,

RE: Memdisk - unload
...Boot CD method at:
http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/#multimemdisk
It works great...trouble is, it creates a ramdisk of
it's own. I end up with the following drive
assignments when I boot DOS/Winxx:
a: - memdisk image of boot floppy
c: - hda1
d: - hda2 (etc)
q: - ramdisk created by barts "modboot"
r: - local CD support
I need memdisk to load the image until the boot
sequence is completed, at which time I would like to
unload memdisk so that I can access the floppy as a:
Can this be done? How? Can I specify to use b: as the
memdisk drive?
Thanx

Hi,
I'm trying to use pxelinux+memdisk to boot to dos. And using dos tcp/ip

I've used winimage to create (dos.ima) image of dos bootable floppy. But
when I type dos at boot: prompt, it doesn't boot to dos instead show a
multi-coloured screen. At this moment ctrl+alt+delete also doesn't work.

menu.c32 error "Windows is bypassing your startup files"
Hey,
Firstly i like to say good work on your project, I love the ability to use
PXE to ghost all my machines without the use of floppy disks.
Now i managed to setup PXE correctly using a copy of Barts Boot Disk's with
ModBOOT and modified it to meet our company needs. This works perfect and i
can ghost not a problem using the standard loader prompt
boot:
and inserting text depending on which image i wish to load from TFTP.
Now i moved to my next step of trying to get Simple Menu's working. My
problem occurs aft...

Creating HD Boot Images
...boot images for
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and so far, haven't had a whole lot of luck.
I've found a number of sources describing the process of setting up
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and how to configure the boot CD to boot various
OS's. I've also read through Bart Lagerweij's BootCD/ModBoot pages, and
Mikhail Kupchick's EBCD pages. (The image files I'm trying to duplicate
are from the EBCD site.) What I can't find is a good tutorial on how to
build the image file from scratch. WinImage will build an empty image, but
is limited to floppy sizes. I tried simply buildi...

KEEPPXE/DOS
First off I love syslinux and it has worked flawless for us on the unix side of the realm.
We're trying to use our ghost images within a dos netboot using syslinux. Unfortunatly we can only pass DHCP ip's to hosts that exhibit a vendor code 'like windows/pxe/and other os's do". Unfortunatly DOS does not, so we cannot request a second IP after the pxe process to map samba
