Problem building libFLAC on Windows x64
Hello everyone. Due to problems with libsndfile's handling of FLAC files, Mixxx is going to use libFLAC directly in v1.9.0. I'm the Windows packager and am trying to build libFLAC on Windows x64 using MSVC 2008 and the following steps that I've put together: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac The problems I have are the following: If I...

JSON response track title not encoded to UTF8
Good evening to you too, From the <ip-address>:8000/server_version.xsl , I get that the installed icecast2 version is 2.4.4. The source client I am currently is Mixxx version 2.2.4 - for Windows 64bit. Would you say I should redirect my question to the support team of the Mixxx program ? If you would like any more info, please feel free to ask. I appreciate your help and patience. All the best, John Kadianakis ________________________________ From: Icecast <...

Git branch with compiling fixes for win32
Not sure if the patches you already have address this, but here are some hacks I collected to try to get libFLAC to build on Windows for Mixxx: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac I have never actually gotten it to build on x64 and right now just use OpenCodecs' distribution (also mentioned at that link) which has Visual Studio files that build fine for me. Sincerely, Sean M. Pappalardo "D.J. Pe...

hostname resolution in libshout
We (Mixxx) have a user who reported an issue with hostname resolution. Here's the bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1391654 They say their hostname resolves to both ipv4 and ipv6 and they bound icecast to the ipv4 interfaces. (I'm not sure why they don't bind to both). Mixxx ca...

[GSoC 2018] Improving debugging of optimized code
Hello, I'm an undergraduate student in the CS department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). Last year I successfully completed GSoC with Mixxx [1] and this year I would like to work on LLVM. I am interested in "Improving debugging of optimized code" [2]. I have gone through the kaleidoscope tutorial and I've set up a basic dev environment for LLVM and clang. I've also set up a bugzilla account. I'd like to start wo...

MetaData Update for FLAC and OPUS
Many Thanks for your answer. Actually quite a few 'ifs', 'maybes' or 'shoulds'... ;-) I have tried most of them (except liquidsoap). However, even the mentioned apps like RadioDJ or Mixxx do NOT support meta data changes via the encoder (they all use the admin interface)! And as you correctly pointed out: none of the reference encoders support this. Not even the FLAC, OGG and OPUS encoders listed on the common xiph.org site! Any this is actually my point: Why does a xiph.org tool...

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Thomas, it is a bit ridiculous, to be honest. If whole open source community have been thinking like this none of the linux distros would have ever had any multimedia player that is usable by regular user because all of the would have been supporting only Vorbis and Theora. For me, one of the best things in open source is its interoperability, not that it is a ghetto. And you won't reverse

No sound on any stream.
I have 2 icecast servers and neither will play music, 1 gentoo, the other ubuntu when connect to a mount and trying to broadcast via mixxx using both mp3 or ogg. Both will establish a stream feed but appears to have no sound. One of them won't even stream a ices2 mounted song either (same symptom, connect but no actual play occurs). Error logs are clean too, firewall is turned off on both client and server, one server is a virtual...
