Wine broken after upgrade
...nstalled (via rpm) 20040615. Apps are still broken. I am thinking that either the new rpm or wineinstall replaced DLLs that I had copied to my fake windows directory. But, that is a guess. Main reason I upgraded was that one application was complaining of two failed devicesL /dev/mixer and /dev/mixer1 (no such file or directory). I think those were the names.
The applications I was trying to run were:
Virtual Rosary, which was working except for OLE as it wants to display images,
and
CS3, a crusty old version of CompuServe. It still had complaints, notable with OLE, but the sound worked and...

Vorbis with SDL_mixer and mingw32
Hi,
I've been trying to build a copy of libSDL_mixer under mingw32. The
compile/link stage goes OK, but if I try and load an application that's been
linked against SDL_mixer, I get a Windows error box with the following text:
mixer1.exe: entry point not found
The procedure entry point vorbis_synthesis_halfrate could not be located in
the dynamic link library vorbis.dll.
Are the .lib files in the Vorbis SDK (v1.0.1) suitable for linking with
mingw? The libvorbisfile samples seem to work, but for some reason SDL_mixer
insists...

Winetools is terrific
...der wine if possible. The software is: cs495b.exe. It is a self

Also, if the following info is not helpful enough, just tell me what you
need.

FreeBSD - 2 soundcards?
Hello,
does anyone have experience of running two or more sound cards in a FreeBSD
machine? I'm using liveice/icecast to stream radio stations, and I'd like
to get several in one box.
I realise a BSD list would be a better place for this, but who else but
streaming folk would ever think about multiple sound cards?
After installing a second card, when I makedev snd1, it creates all the

MB soundcards and PCI soundcards
Here's a problem that I have uncovered on two entriely separate machines
using the latest icecast2 and ices2 software. Even when the onboard
soundcard is disabled, the PCI soundcard (which has been both a Creative
Live! and an Ensoniq soundcard) is unable to accept input or stdin
audio.
If I enable the onboard soundcard everything works well and I can stream
audio using icecast and ices. But
