kendall.global
Hi every body: I need some help with kendall.global. The example in the manual seems not working well, and cannot used with my data, always the same error. data(mite) > mite.hel <- decostand(mite, "hel") > > # Reproduce the results shown in Table 2 of Legendre (2005), a single group > mite.small <- mite.hel[c(4,9,14,22,31,34,45,53,61,69),c(13:15,23)] > kendall.global(mite.small) Errore in FUN(newX[, i], ...) : .Random.seed is...

Goodness of fit to Poisson / NegBinomial
All, I have some data on parasites on apple leaves and want to do a goodness of fit test to a Poisson distribution. This seems to do it: mites <- c(rep(0,70), rep(1,38), rep(2,17), rep(3,10), rep(4,9), rep(5,3), rep(6,2), rep(7,1)) tab <- table(mites) NSU <- length(mites) N <- sum(mites) NSU.Mean <- N / NSU exp <-...

CCA - manual selection
Hello, I am trying to obtain f-values for response (independent) variables from a CCA performed in vegan package, to see which ones of them have significative influence in my dependent variables (like the manual selection in canoco), but I can't find any function (or package) that do such a thing. The dependents variables are species data, and the independents are ambiental data. Than you.

Analysis of unbalanced data in nlme or car
I am analyzing a dataset on the effects of six pesticides on population growth rate of a predatory mite. The response variable is the population growth rate of the mite expressed as ln(Nfinal/Nstarting) of the mite, where N final the population of the mite at the end of the experiment and N starting the population of the mite at the beginning of the experiment. Each of the six treatments was ran in t...

Unrealistic dispersion parameter for quasibinomial
I am running a binomial glm with response variable the no of mites of two species y->cbind(mitea,miteb) against two continuous variables (temperature and predatory mites) - see below. My model shows overdispersion as the residual deviance is 48.81 on 5 degrees of freedom. If I use quasibinomial to account for overdispersion the dispersion parameter estimate...

Wide confidence intervals or Error message in a mixed effects model (nlme)
I am analyzing a dataset on the effects of six pesticides on population growth rate of a predatory mite. The response variable is the population growth rate of the mite (ranges from negative to positive) and the exploratory variable is a categorical variable (treatment). The experiment was blocked in time (3 blocks / replicates per block) and it is unbalanced - at least 1 replicate per block. I am an...

lme anova() and model simplification
I am running an lme model with the main effects of four fixed variables (3 continuous and one categorical – see below) and one random variable. The data describe the densities of a mite species – awsm – in relation to four variables: adh31 (temperature related), apsm (another plant feeding mite) awpm (a predatory mite), and orien (sampling location within plant – north or south). I have read in Pinheiro and Bates that anova(model) can be used to asses the significance of fixed...

Windows Xp / Icecast 2.3.1 / Oddcast 3 / Crap Router?
Ok here's the deal. I set up Icecast and Oddcast, got them to communicate properly, but cannot access the live audio remotely. On other computers in the LAN it works perfetly. Currently I operate wirelessly behind a D-Link 514 router (a mite outdated by now, yes?) and have opened all necessary ports, turned my firewalls off, set this computer as a DMZ, pretty much everything I can think of - but when I try to connect from outside the LAN, I still get a timeout message. I've check the access logs and ity does not show any record of...

Named rows in a table (data frame) read from a file
...5 1.9 yes As it is seen, the rows have a name. However I don't know how to access a particular element from that name, for instance, > attach(F1) > Price [1] 52.00 54.75 57.50 57.50 59.75 > Price[["a"]] Error en Price[["a"]] : sub?ndice fuera de los l?mites > Price$a Error en Price$a : $ operator is invalid for atomic vectors > Price['a'] [1] NA > Price["a"] [1] NA If I cannot access particular elements of the frame components by the row names, is there any use of having the rows named? Thanks, Sergio.

Using SQL to get a whole record when using aggregate functions
...each year. Is there any way to do this by modifying the previous query to pull that as well in a single pass? The only approach I can think of is to iterate through the results of the above query, doing another query for each shortest book I want to get all the details for, which seems a mite inefficient. Thanks, SQL mavens! Sean ----- Sean McMains AIM: SeanMcTex http://www.mcmains.net/ruminations -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... SYSLINUX Digest, Vol 49, Issue 19
...gt; - John 'Warthog9' Hawley > John: There are a few popular distros that do permit this. Knoppix and the ones based on the Linux-Live scripts are ones that I'm most familiar with. OTOH, mounting an ISO from linuxrc isn't as tough as writing an ISO-compatible memdisk. It mite take a few days, but given that there are several working examples of doing this very task, the orig inquiry illustrates a lack of understanding of 'hacking' a custom solution. *And* one mite realize a solution w/o even touching the init ramdisk, by dismantling the indiv ISOs and &quot...
