Date Mismatch
...it appears in every version of Windows, not just XP. If I touch the file and give it any other date, Say Dec 14, 1901 14:45, Windows correctly displays that date. This is not a filesystem problem, fscheck is clean as a whistle, this must be a SAMBA issue. I suspect that whatever problem causes the misrepresentation in date is also what causes the date to be wrong in the first place. Any help? Thanks

[LLVMdev] [lldb-dev] Deprecating autoconf/make?
...ibuted with Xcode. ... couldn't because he couldn't get ninja and CMake installed on his workstation. > > I'm not sure where you got the "cmake isn't included in xcode, therefore noone can use it on an apple platform". That is just utter nonsense. That is a *gross* misrepresentation of what I said. Anyone can go install CMake themselves by downloading it from their website; I thought that was obvious! That's why I didn't say it. What I was specifically saying there was, some people who *work* at companies like Apple have bosses that may or may not let them install CMa...

Rcpp: Clarifying the meaning of GPL?
I wrote the Rcpp library and the RcppTemplate package to make it easier for developers to contribute packages to the R community. In addition to providing detailed documentation on package creation it provides a clean object mapping between R anc C++ that helps developers to implement packages that benefit from the performance of C++ and the flexibility of R. The package named 'Rcpp' was

[OT] Important Issue with "TIME" as we had with Y2K.
...s, Important events, various schedules etc. all are directly related to "date/time", similarly it plays an important role in IT industry, our system uses date for various purposes e.g. various updates, application/program execution, backup schedules etc. etc. etc. and hence any variation, misrepresentation, error may lead to a great consequences. I hope you all remember Year 2000(Y2K) problem, just for ready reminder - in fact it was the way we represent "date" i.e. 05/05/75 is 5th May 1975, so date could be of maximum two digits(01-31), month could be of maximum two digits(01-12) but year...

Echo Cancellation Feature
<snip> I've got a fair amount of test equipment (and 20+ years telephony background), and am planning to assemble a document identifying some of the pstn issues, level settings, and other things impacting a reasonable system implementation. Unless someone wants to UPS a transmission test set to me quickly, the document won't be completed for several weeks. (The only test set I

ps or pdf
Hi everyone, I have been making a fair amount of figures in R recently that I've been touching up with Illustrator and I've found a difference between pdf and ps files and I was wondering if someone could enlighten me about them. While the figures look the same, the ps version tends to have truncated strings. The last character of short strings tends to be on a string of its own, located

Can we disable diffie-hellman-group14-sha1 by default?
I'm not sure if collision resistance is required for DH key derivation, but generally, SHA-1 is on its way out. If it's possible (if there's not a very large percentage of servers that do not support anything newer), it should be disabled.

Help with predict.lm
Hi I have measured the UV absorbance (abs) of 10 solutions of a substance at known concentrations (conc) and have used a linear model to plot a calibration graph with confidence limits. I now want to predict the concentration of solutions with UV absorbance results given in the new.abs data.frame, however predict.lm only appears to work for new "conc" variables not new "abs"
