I can't get iaxComm to connect to guest@misery.digium.com
...nux 2.4.20-8 with an Intel i810 audio chipset (comes in the laptop). I am using the Gnome desktop. There is no reference to alsa or oss to be found. All audio components function fine. Nothing else is running and I have an active broadband internet connection. I can ping www.digium.com but NOT misery.digium.com which may explain the retransmissions. I downloaded iaxcomm-lin-current.tar Untarred it. And did the following: [root@localhost iaxcomm]# ls iaxcomm QUICKSTART README ring.raw [root@localhost iaxcomm]# ./iaxcomm Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkgc.c: line 689 (gdk_gc_set_clip_rectangle): ass...

WINS misery.. please help :(
I have been trying all day to make WINS work for me, unsuccessfully. I have a rather complex setup, that works fine over a LAN, WINS and all. However, the LAN was a substitution for the internet, and when the setup is moved to the real internet, the WINS aspect of my setup does not work. I need some information about WINS over different subnets. I have two machines both running linux +

Windows 7 + Samba 3.5.6 = abject misery...
Can anyone help with this? I set it all up a few months ago, the samba side being standard upgrades via debian - configured as a PDC, and the windows 7 clients being clean installs, with the standard lanmanworkstation regedits done. They've been working fine since then, but have now started failing, instead raising the error message 'The trust relationship between this work station and

samba3 upgrade misery
Greetings, all We've been running samba2 for far too long - I'd just never found the time to upgrade, and it wasn't a priority since it WORKED. Our little Solaris9/SPARC64 box happily served our few gigs of files to 20 users, and played the part of a PDC. Then I upgraded CUPS, and discovered samba2 doesn't like cups-1.2 libs, and figured it was as good an excuse to make the

ata186 and 9 for outgoing line type dialplans
...ut I do not get dialtone after the 9. I presume I have to get * to send dialtone via rtp (or is there some sip packet that will tell the ata to continue dialtone)? How is that done to a sip extension? The calls to iaxtel don't seem to be working. I'm also not able to get Dial(IAX2/guest@misery.digium.com/s@default) to connect, even though it was working well earlier today.... (I get no reply packets at all, for either misery.digium.com or iaxtel.com.) -JimC

I know I must be being daft, but is there a way to set which context the queuing system uses when it dials the operators/agents? By default it appears to use the default context. I've looked through voip-info.org and can't find anything, someone please put me out of my misery.

Samba + LDAP = Misery
I have been working on this for weeks now and feel like I am at a dead-end. I am using Samba 3.0 (Head) and OpenLDAP (2.0) and smbldap-tools 0.7 and cannot join either a Linux machine or Windows 2000 machine to the domain. If any of you have some ideas they would be much appreciated. Highlights: - I have a root defined (UID and GID of 0). - Trying to join the domain will successfully add my

Requery: R 1.0.0 for Win95 and clipboard
Noone answered so I guess this is not possible, but can anyone definitely put me out of my misery... 'I have just begun using R 1.0.0 for Win95. Can someone please tell me how to put a data frame on the clipboard, and how to read data into a data frame from the clipboard.' Is this something that's planned? "Pursuit of Happiness" ? Are you sure ?
I always kind of liked this title (the title of Davids super Rails presentation), but then I saw this quote today: "The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you''ll never find it." by C.P Snow I''d have to agree with this quote. It''s the same as love... go looking for it, and you''ll never find it. Soooo... David,

Can login as Guest from server, but not from workstation?
Hi, I have a long-running samba einstallation on Freebsd, with various incarnations of windows from XP through Vista and Windows 7 all working flawlessly. Recently we added a media computer (TVIX) and decided to use Samba to serve the files to the TVIX. This is when my misery began.. The TVIX requires the share to be TVIXHD1 and accessed via the Guest account (it is not very flexible about changing options). So I created the share: [TVIXHD1] comment = MEDIA FILES path = /var/VIDEONFS read only = no guest ok = yes public = yes I didn't use guest only, because we...
