Restoring Windows to Minimzed State after Sleeping
When I resume working on my computer running Centos 6.7 after sleeping, terminal windows, file directories and the applications are restored. However, terminal windows and file directories that were minimized before going to sleep are opened to the size and location they had before being minimized. I'd like for all windows that were minimized to be restored to this very state - is this

Strange window behavior
I run several programs under Wine. Specifically, I'm running the win32 half-life server, hlds.exe, and the program TotalCommander, a windows file manager program. If I try to minimze either of these programs, they minimize and immediately pop back up again. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that when I minimze them, they minimize and stay minimized? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Implementation of S-Plus "nlmib" routine in R
Where can I find a package with an R implementation of the S-Plus "nlmib" general minimzation routine described in Venables & Ripley's "Modern Applie Statistics with S-Plus", 3rd Ed., pp 267 - 270? External checkpoints (those where --memspec was used) have more information than disk-only snapshots (even if --quiesce was used to minimze the need for an fsck on the disk contents). Thus, --memspec snapshots require no guest cooperation, at the expense of requiring more disk space to hold the state. On the other hand, if you are going to do a --memspec snapshot, I _highly_ recommend that you snapshot ALL disks at once, rather than...

minimum distance between line segments
Dear R helpers, I think that this may be a bit of a math question as the more I consider it, the harder it seems. I am trying to come up with a way to work out the minimum distance between line segments. For instance, consider 20 random line segments: x1 <- runif(20) y1 <- runif(20) x2 <- runif(20) y2 <- runif(20) plot(x1, y1, type = "n") segments(x1, y1, x2, y2)
