[fdo] 'Mini-Compiz' on Miniature Linux/OpenGL (embedded 3D window system)
hi, my goal is to produce (for start) really tiny and simple Compiz-like "window manager", the main concern is size and speed... and by size i mean very tiny:1-2MB since everyone is probably laughing (id be too, few months ago), i might start by showing its possible, actually there is already complete WORKING development environment for it... thanks to SciTech drivers it can run

Figures within tables [slightly off-topic]
Dear R-listers I am writing a manuscript for a scientific journal in clinical medicine. I have three groups of patients, and I present a 10*3 table of their characteristics in Table 1. Some of their characteristics, e.g. their age, are on a continuous scale, others are dichotomous. I am thinking of presenting the age distribution in each group as miniature graphs, each of which must fit in one

Looks like I''ll be in Austin from Tuesday (late) night until Saturday morning. Any Puppeteers in Austin who want to get together? I''ve got vague plans to hang out with whurley, but I''d love to meet a few more people in the community. Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday night should work fine (although not all three). -- Always behave like a duck - keep calm and

switcher patch do disable window list
Here is a switcher patch to disable window list: It's very useful if you set opacity to 0. Then, window just bring to front one by one while switching. It's much more usable, i think, that small miniatures in a list where you don't see anything. While making this patch, a question come into my head, nobody know on compiz.biz and some people are as curious as me. Two code example:

[PATCH] utils: make guestfs_int_count_strings return 0 on NULL input
This miniature patch makes function guestfs_int_count_strings accept NULL input and return 0 signalling that it is empty list. It makes it more usefull with NULL initialized variables and a tiny bit more robust. FOSDEM Dojo update, videos
Mmmmm - Some illumination on the speaker would be advantageous. Perhaps it would have been better filming/videoing from the right, rather than the left, side. Viewing it on my PC (running Centos of course), Mr Singh's talking is not always distinct. Different types of mic provide different levels of clarity. A laval mic (clip-on miniature microphone) with better audio would probably help.

Problems with Caller ID on FXO
Hey all...for whatever reason my caller id doesn't appear to be working. My setup is simple (Wildcard FXO and thats it) and I'm just expecting the Caller ID to show up on the console. I'm seeing this: *CLI> -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1' NOTICE[262161]: File callerid.c, Line 238 (callerid_feed): Caller*ID failed checksum NOTICE[262161]: File chan_zap.c, Line

"invest" applet in centos 5.1 seems to be inoperative
Hello! I figured it'd be interesting to see a miniature graph of the Dow Jones on my panel bar. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to do anything, and the preferences for it isn't helpful (it already has DJIA). So, any suggestions on how to get it to work? Regards, Charles Campbell

Coverity and libvorbis
Hi all, I'm not sure if you are aware, but libvorbis has been scanned by the Coverity static analysis team : http://scan.coverity.com/ For libvorbis, it found 8 possible bugs. To fix these bugs Coverity need a repesentative from the project to contact them for access to the coverity reporting facilities. The reason I am keen to see Xiph take up this challenge is that when all

[idea] wavefront obj+mtl viewing inside cube plugin
Hi everyone, With the introduction of Dennis' paintInside function, I can imagine many end users wanting to display things inside of the cube--corporate logo, distro logo, miniature city, etc. For static objects, we should easily be able to load one at runtime, rather than developing a separate plugin for each, allowing us to do what we do best (programming) and the artists to do what they

Can rails environments be loaded only once and then execute rake tasks without loading it again and again?
Hi there guys, I have a daemon that executes a rake task periodically in a loop in the backend. And every time it runs the rake task, rails environment is reloaded. Is there a way that the rails environment is loaded only once before the loop and the following rake task will not load it again and again? Thank you in advance.
