We have a draft spec with no implementation. I can't imagine the magic
changing, so I think it's ok to leave it in, but I'm ok to remove it
if you think that's best.
I do think there's little

Yes, I'm good with that.

Sorry, I thought I'd dumped the spec into the wiki. It's there now,
and linked from the MIMETypesCodecs page.

Detecting FLAC file type

Perhaps I have misunderstood your problem,
but is this not what magic numbers are for?
For Ogg Vorbis and Ogg FLAC, see:
http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/MIMETypesCodecs#Codecs_Parameter
For Native FLAC, see:

Which was previously for those not paying attention char[9]: 'YUV4MPEG2'.

AFAIK, that is just a matter of putting a [[OggUVS]] in there. At
least that's what I reckon to be the spec for YUV4MPEG encapsulation.

I'm using GStreamer, but I'm afraid the shout2send element I'm using

dir.xiph.org : OPUS stream wrongly identified as Vorbis
Hello,
We started to publish an OPUS stream amongst others on our Icecast
streaming server. That's cool, we're muxing it in an Ogg container, it
works well !
So this is just a remark : as the Icecast shows its type as
"application/ogg", it may be the reason why the Icecast directory shows
this as an Ogg Vorbis stream although it's an Ogg OPUS one.
Any idea how to correct

I was unable to find any documentation on this on the Web. Would you
have a link to the mapping?
BTW, I have now finalized a first version of the codecs table on the
wiki: http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/MIMETypesCodecs. Please assume
typos and check it...
We should probably put a link to this page on the wiki front page
(wiki.xiph.org). I don't seem to be able to edit that protected
wikipage though, so whoever has the rights, please do hook it in.
Cheers,
Silvia.

The metadata is not related to Icecast or libshout at all. They are part
of the bitstream as generated by the encoder.
Hope that helped you,

I was under the impression that 8 was the limit. Thus the extra white
space JM adds on Speex and CELT magics. I may be wrong, though.

Source client with HTTP PUT
Hi,
I'm writting a source client in c#, in which I'm sending chunks of a mp3 file with http Put to IceCast.
My problem is, that it is not a continues stream. Each http PUT request is an extra track.
How can I generate an ongoing stream with mp3 chunks, which I send per http Put to IceCast.
Any suggestions?
My headers are:
Headers.Add("Content-Type", "audio/mpeg");

How Ogg mappings translate into the codecs parameter in Ogg media types
Hi all,
I am trying to set up the codecs table in the wiki and we have played
a bit with Dirac to find out what existing tools write into the
header.
The Schroedinger implementation by Fluendo uses (or used to use)
"KW-DIRAC" as the identifier in the Ogg header.
"BBCD" is the identifier of each of the Dirac data packages.
More recently, I read that the Dirac Sequence header
