Is wxRuby-SWIG version usable enough to package for download?
If wxRuby-SWIG is as usable as wxRuby 0.6.0, maybe it should be given a
version number and packaged up for download.
Given the nature of SWIG, having a lot more people use it would probably
result in more code contributions to this project.
Seems most of the changes are 2+ months old, so I''m guessing wxRuby-SWIG
is fairly stable right now in terms of frequency of changes...

Okular
Does anyone know what Magical configuration file determines whether okular
give measurements, in the properties of a .pdf, in millimeters, rather
than, say, inches or cm or furlongs?

Measurements will always be given in the least convenient units, such as
the speed of light in furlongs per fortnight

Nothing seems to work when using Wine.
....0.0 today for Ubuntu 8.04, but nothing seems to work like it should. I've tried to install several games, none of them works, and they all do one of the following:
1) It looks like it's loading like it should, but then the screen tears apart and I see a lot of blue lines which are about 5 millimeters thick on my screen. This makes it impossible to do anything.
2) The screen is split in halves. The left half then tries to show the full width of the screen, which fails, making everything unreadable. The other half of the screen is just black.
As one of these symptoms always happens, I'...

Q about dpi, fonts, gnome, Xorg etc
...inches = 2.82mm
high. More or less, I'm not insisting it be exact, but at least not
1mm or 5mm high.
In the (glorious) past I was able to look at xdpyinfo |egrep 'dimension|
resolution' and check that Xorg was giving something reasonable.. eg
dimensions: 1600x1200 pixels (423x317 millimeters)
resolution: 96x96 dots per inch
So far so good. With this new fangled gnome and fontconfig stuff, you
also need to set up some X-resources with:
xrdb -query |grep Xft
Xft.antialias: 1
Xft.dpi: 96
Xft.hinting: 1
Xft.hintstyle: hintfull
Xft.rgba: none

That sounds an awful lot like the old canard, ?Your right to swing your fist stops at the tip of my nose.? Go down to the local drinking hole tonight and start swinging your fist to within a millimeter of peoples? noses, and see how far that legal defense gets you.
The only reason we don?t have specific laws that allow the government to force specific password quality policies is that we?ve been trying to self-govern. If you fight our efforts at self-government, you open the door to heavy-han...

[Bug 26194] New: nouveau reports DPI correctly in Xorg.0.log, but value reported by X incorrect
.../var/log/Xorg.0.log

290mm x 180mm and 112x112 DPI are indeed correct (1280x800, 13.3" widescreen),
however:
$ xdpyinfo | grep -E 'dimensions|resolution'

resolution: 96x96 dots per inch
X appears to be getting bogus data, which screws up font sizing.

Scatterplot axes
Please, could someone help me figure out what seems to be a very simple
problem (and is still taking me hours...).
I want to draw a simple scatterplot but with 'equal' axes, i.e. I want both
axes to go from -3 to 3. Values for x lie between -2 and 0.5, values for y
between -2.2 and 3. I have tried 'usr' and 'eqscplot' and a few other
options, but it doesn't give me the

X11 device distortion (PR#10666)
Full_Name: Thomas Zumbrunn
Version: 2.6.1
OS: GNU/Linux (openSuse 10.3 2.6.22.13-0.3-default)
Submission from: (NULL) (131.152.125.199)
With my particular X11 settings, the width to height ratio of the x11 device is
distorted, with the width being half that of the height. This results in wrongly
proportioned plots, wrongly positioned text etc.
Other devices are not affected.

Myst - config [x11drv] section documentation anywhere?
Hi,
I'm attempting to bring up Myst but running into some issues that
are presumably graphics related. I had thought that I'd read the
manual before I started asking questions here but found that the Wine
Configuration File page is inconveniently missing the [x11drv]
section. Is there anything written but happens to be elsewhere that I
might read?
The question I'm trying to

plotmath "overstrikes" in output on a Linux system
I've been testing plotmath. But I'm getting some funny output one one
computer. The problem is that characters are 'jumbled' and overstrike
when symbols are introduced.
Sample code:
mu <- 440.0
sigma <- 12.5
myx <- seq( mu - 4*sigma, mu+ 4*sigma, length.out=500)
myDensity <- dnorm(myx,mean=mu,sd=sigma)

Carrara 6 on wine in Ubuntu Hardy...
I am new and trying to get Daz Carrara 6 Pro going on Ubuntu Hardy.
I am on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 Dell Inspiron 530 using an ATI X1650 pro card.
I am using the Ubuntu Add/Remove ATI drivers and Wines.
Carrara 6 pro 6.1. and I just updated to 6.1.1.
I did not load the C++ and I have turned off windows management in WINE.
If I change the interactive rendering settings and click OK, Carrara

Since most of that crap comes from Windows hosts, the security of Linux
SSH passwords seems hardly relevant.
