coordinates from locator function in POSIXct format
...me extrem wind events in the wind-curve, I use locator() to get the exact date-information, by clicking in the points in graph I?m interested in. I get in the R console the x and y coordinates. The x coordinates are not in a POSIXct format, I guess R is returning the x coordinates in a time unit as miliseconds or something else. Do anyone how to get the x coordinates directly in a POSIXct format? Thanks in advance! Cristabel. Cristabel Dur?n Rangel. PhD Student. Institute of Silviculture. Extrapolating values from a glm fit
Dear R-help, I have fitted a glm logistic function to dichotomous forced choices responses varying according to time interval between two stimulus. x values are time separation in miliseconds, and the y values are proportion responses for one of the stimulus. Now I am trying to extrapolate x values for the y value (proportion) at .25, .5, and .75. I have tried several predict parameters, and they don't appear to be working. Is this correct use and understanding of the predict funct...

T-38 re-invite issue

Hellolololo... effect in long distance?
Hi, Have anyone using speex experience the following effect: When I say "hello", it will be become "hellololololololo....". This does not always happened. The chance of happen is quite random. This effect does not happen in my LAN. It only happen when ping time is about 500 milisecond or more. Is it a speex problem? Any suggestion how to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance! Gui immediately closes when started from command-line
Hello, I want to run an r script that contains code for a gui (rgtk) on the command line (windows 2000, 32 bits) using R2.10.1, but the Gui disappears a few miliseconds after I started the program. What switch should I use to prevent this? I tried r.exe, rterm.exe and rscript.exe with various combinations of switches, but none of them works.   TIA Cheers!! disable TCP slowstart ?
...me will increase the window size faster, but all start with same low window size. So i''m asking if there is a other way to eighter disable TCP slowstart completely or at least increase the inital window size. Thanks for any help, hint in the right direction. I know, this will only improve miliseconds per transfer, but it''s worth a try. regards, Paul

Using vcut
How does one use the vcut from Vorbis-tools package? I tried to enter samples, miliseconds, seconds, h:mm:ss as cut point, but nothing worked (I even tried to enter 1 as cutpoint, but I always got "Cutpoint not within stream." message)... I'm doing this on Windows, if it matters... -- Jernej Simoncic, jernej.simoncic@guest.arnes.si http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/ ICQ:...

ssanova help
Hi all, I'm using the ssanova function from the gss package to fit smoothing spline anovas, and am running into some difficulty. For my data, I have measurements at 2 milisecond intervals for every observation. Every observation does not have the same duration, so I have scaled the times for each observation to a scale between 0 and 1. I would like to smooth over time, and the following works: ssanova(Measurement ~ ScaleTime, data = data) I would also like to see how th...

Using freeswitch and Icecast
...pplication) to present it to the user with or without delay, depending > on configuration as I mentioned above. In addition, why would you require the broadcast to be as low latency as the conversation itself? Even professional broadcasting will have a delay of anywhere between a couple hundred miliseconds and several seconds. If you need real time interaction or want to have people dial in, then those people should use the VoIP bidirectional channel and not the broadcast. That's how call-in shows on the radio do it too. Also while you can get the latency into the 1-2s range with Icecast, this...

connection tracking
Hello I have some rules inserted in the NAT table dual SNAT and DNAT for a connection They use at some moment the same port of the outside network. The problem i have is that the connection tracking in the kernel checks first the oldest rule and then the newest one. I use a system based on ARM XScale processor. Is that the default behaviour and how can i change this behaviour? Marius

Improving supermin appliance startup time (lkvm/qboot)
Hi, I remembered reading about Intel Clear Containers [1], and Hyper/Qboot [2] that support startup times measured in the hundreds of miliseconds range. On an AMD FX(tm)-8350 'guestfish -a /dev/null run' takes ~4s when run the 2nd/3rd time: real 0m4.152s user 0m2.120s sys 0m0.564s Are there any plans on applying these improvements to the supermin appliance? I did some quick tests on what would be possible, see below: If I try to...
