comparative density estimates
I have two series of events over time and I want to construct a graph of the relative frequency/density of these events that allows their distributions to be sensibly compared. The events are the milestones items in my project on milestones in the history of data visualization [1], and I want to compare trends in Europe vs. North America. I decided to use a graph of two overlaid density estimates with rug plots, but then the question arises of how to choose the bandwidth (BW) for the two series t...

Subject: Milestone: 10000 packages on CRAN
Continuing the tradition to post millennia milestones on CRAN: So, it happened. Today (January 27, 2017 PCT) CRAN reached 10,000 packages [1]. Needless to say, the rate with which new packages are added to CRAN keeps increasing and so does the number of contributors (maintainers). Somewhere out there, there are ~3 persons who are about to submit th...

[LLVMdev] GSoC: PTX Back-End for LLVM
...oC proposal, so please be brutal with the feedback. :) Hi Justin, I think this is a great idea. I am highly interested in PTX code generation. [...Proposal...] The proposal is nice and shows that you already have a good idea of your project. Here some ideas how you can further improve it: 1. Milestones / Time line You already have a two-phase development plan. I believe it would be nice, if you can further split it into a set of smaller milestones. Each could include a short description of what you plan to deliver, how long its implementation will take and when you plan to implement it durin...

plain text stories: motivation number 27
This is mostly theoretical, but ... I''m starting to use lighthouse (http://llighthouseapp.com) for my projects at work. I''m organizing iterations as milestones and stories as tickets tagged to a milestone. Lighthouse offers an API so that you can write access the data in your account and write apps to process that data. I think you see where this is going. It seems to me that a plain text story could be stored in a lighthouse ticket, read in via the l...

IRC Milestone
I know this is a basically meaningless milestone, but for some reason it means something to me. For the first time (as far as I know), #puppet on irc.freenode.net has more users than #cfengine: 21 vs. 19. Admittedly, that''s a low user count for #cfengine, but I''ll take it. :) -- Honest criticism is hard to take, particul...

Roadmap to 2.7.3
...0APRM <https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/187> * #190: upsd: NSS SSL only working in debug mode <https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/190> * eaton_epdus branch: <https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/tree/eaton-epdus> Most of these are from the GitHub 2.7.3 milestone: https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues?q=milestone%3A2.7.3 #93: The scope of this issue is a bit broad (encompassing a Gen3 dummy-ups driver, etc) but for 2.7.3, I think we can call this closed, so long as there are no issues pushing this to www.networkupstools.org. Milestone release for rsync 3.0.0?
...has been under development for 8 months now, but its final release still appears to be a very long way off, and at least one person has expressed interest in having a copy of rsync 3.0.0 to try out ( http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2007-February/017372.html ). I encourage you to make a "milestone" release of rsync 3.0.0 (like the Eclipse people do) and encourage packagers to offer it to users in the "unstable" or "development" category. This would encourage a wider community of users (including myself!) to try out and become comfortable with the current rsync 3.0.0...
