dovecot and vmailmgr/qmail mailboxes
Hello folks, Time ago I worked on a patch for dovecot to work with vmailmgr http://mij.oltrelinux.com/net/dovecot-qmail-vmailmgr/ The patch was required because, despite vmailmgr complies with the checkpassword interface supported by dovecot, dovecot snips the mailbox directory returned by the authentication module at colon characters ':'. Incidentally, vmailmgr maps any

Analysing ordinal/nominal data
Hi! I'm looking for a solution to analyse data, which consists of dichotomous responses (yes/no) for 2 multinomial ordinal variables. I was trying glm() and got hierarhical models treating all variables as nominal, but I can't figure out how to tell glm() to use a model for ordinal data like this: log(Mij) = intercept + X + Y + Z + beta*(x-x')*(y-y') where beta is a

hipzip iomega vorbis'd firmware
Hi I've seen there are few people saying someone @xiph got an hipzip firmware supporting vorbis. All references are at least one year old. Does someone know something more about that? (whether, how, _where_, ...) Expecially now that tremor's been released, it should be even easier to get such a feature, shouldn't it? bye -- Mij -o- mij@bitchx.it -o- http://mij.oltrelinux.com ---

IFELSE across large array?
Dear all, As our previous email did not get any response, we try again with a reformulated question! We are trying to do something which needs an efficient loop over a huge array, possibly functions such as apply and related (tapply, lapply...?), but can't really understand syntax and examples in practice...i.e. cant' make it work. to be more specific: we are trying to apply a mask

dovecot and vmailmgr
hello now that dovecot supports authentication with checkpassword-compatible modules, I tried to get it working for IMAP on a qmail + vmailmgr server. For a subtle detail, while claiming to be "a drop-in replacement for the standard checkpassword", checkvpw (auth module for vmailmgr) is not "drop in". It actually expects 2 args on its command line, not 1. So, a wrapper

DNF update

I think it should be called YUM. Nothing wrong with having a new version of Yum, especially when we have a new version of Centos with many strange differences (if not alien concepts) called C7. Keep it simple,

If RedHat is satisfied with dnf then they will include it and not yum in RHELN. Maybe they will make yum an alias to

Discrete Multivariate Analysis (log-linear model)
I'm reading a old statistics book "MARVIN J. Karson (1982), Multivariate Statistical Methods, The IOWA State University Press, Iowa". In the chapter XI i can find some information about discrete multivariate analysis. This chapter is restricted to an introduction to log-linear models for analysis of multidimensional contingency tables. For example, in the log-linear model for

Basic problem with Samba 3.0.11 PDC on Samba Red Hat RHAS3 ACL srpm.
People have been experiencing problems with the subject line. AFAICS most of them haven't bothered to follow selected bits of the HOWTO. However, the former excludes all references to the idealx scripts, which I cannot use, since my DIT is set up completely differently from the idealx concept. I write my own, disjointed, shell and awk OpenLDAP scripts. Neither on my RHAS3 test rig (config as

Fwd: Everything works except sending mail
Hi people, Version of my beloved Dovecot installation: 2.2.27 (c0f36b0) I moved from a OS X server to a Linux (Ubuntu) Headless server. All fun and good to play around with. Love almost everything. In the combination with Postfix and Dovecot I?m stuck to despair into oblivion. Everything works except I cannot send mail from my (OS X) Outlook client I keep getting: Connection to the

dovecot checkpassword passdb and vmailmgr
hello some times ago I posted some patches to workaround vmailmgr not fitting into dovecot's passdb-checkpassword authentication module. Yesterday I spent some spare time for carrying out a cleaner solution for this problem. Check out these patches. If you're not interested in merging them, I will make them available at the same page I used for the former solution [

patch for tinc-0.3
Hi tinc list members, There were some problems with Ivo's email adresses (both zarq@iname.com and zarq@spark.icicle.dhs.org) so I resent the stuff to the mailling list. ============================================= Hi Ivo, Hier is een oplossing voor een bugje in flush_queue(), en ook wat andere troepjes zoals een tincd scheduler. Dit werkt wat beter, omdat de
