Stuck trying to boot Xen 4.3 on Arm Midway
...f information found in [1] and its sub-pages and the Xen in-tree documentation in order to make xen boot (potentially non-smp without some later changes). But since I am not familiar enough with Arm I think I am stuck doing something wrong. I compiled the hypervisor with debug and early printk for midway and use the xen.bin file (I could get no output at all when trying to create a uboot image with mkimage from the uncompressed xen.gz). My uboot sequence looks like this: mw.l 800000 0 10000 scsi scan ext2load scsi 0 0x800000 xen.bin ext2load scsi 0 0x1000000 vmlinuz setenv kernsize $filesize ext2l...

[PATCH v4 0/3] support for cubieboard2 / sunxi processors
The majority of this series went in a while back, what remains is just the basic platform support and the UART blacklisting. The series has also grown a constcorrectness fix for the other existing platforms too. Still no SATA support from upstream sadly. Bamvor has written some generic docs at http://wiki.xenproject.org/wiki/Xen_ARMv7_with_Virtualization_Extensions/Allwinner Thanks, Ian.

HPC question: torques replacement
Dear Experts, I know there are many HPC (high performance computing) experts on this list. I'd like to ask your advise. Almost two decades ago I chose to go with OpenPBS (turned down condor and other alternatives for whatever reason) for clusters and number crunchers I support for the Department at the university. It turned out to be not bad, long lived choice. At some point I smoothly

[PATCH 0/4] ARM/early-printk: Improve reusability and add Calxeda support
...d to add machines or tweak settings. This series slightly moves some code to gather UART settings in xen/arch/arm/Rules.mk instead of the actual .c files. Also it allows two different machines with different settings to share the same driver, which the last patch exploits to add support the Calxeda Midway hardware. This haven''t been extensively tested, but I looked at the generated assembly and did some quick checks on Versatile Express. I just did a search, and only found used systems, never new, and they were all "refurbed", starting at $1500, and going up to $22k... and still refurbed. PE - installation error
Hi, I am trying to install puppet enterprise on a fresh Debian Squeeze machine, but I am getting an error midway with no information on what went wrong. How do I troubleshoot or look for more debugging information? This is what the screen output for installation is: thanks for your help in advance! Setting up pe-rubygem-fog (1.0.0e-1puppet2) ... RAID questions
Hello, Just a couple questions regarding RAID. Here's thesituation. I bought a 4TB drive before I upgraded from 6.8 to 7.3. I'm not too far into this that Ican't start over. I wanted disk space to backup 3 other machines. I way overestimated what I needed for full, incremental and image backups with UrBackup.I've used less than 1TB so far. I would like to add an additional drive

--partial not working?
Hello, I’m running rsync -avPhi to move large video files to a remote server. Often we have to stop a transfer midway through to push something else to the server. My hope was that the -P flag would invoke --partial and the transfer would pick-up where it left off. This does not seem to be happening. Rather, the transfer starts over from the beginning, erasing the partially transferred file. When I redo the trans...

I think it will even do it reasonably safely (though still better not to have a power failure!). I have a vague memory of addi...

00LOCK and nfs
I am running into a problem with the 00LOCK file and .nfs files. It seemed to be caused by the following R is installed on NFS user A has loaded pkg_A containing a dynamically loaded library user B (the administrator) runs install.packages("pkg_A") as the final part of the installation process the 00LOCK directory is removed this creates a .nfs file because user A has the

HPC question: torques replacement
Hey Valeri - IIRC, midway (and maybe midway2?) use slurm for job scheduling. I don't know how many of your faculty use both your nodes and midway, but maybe consolidating on to a single scheduler would be easier for them? aborting the execution of a script...
...following questions: 1. If there is an error in an expression, an error message is printed, but the execution continues till the end of the script. I am sourcing with echo. Is there any way to abort the execution when the first error occurs? This happens with R CMD BATCH. If there is an error midway, an error message is printed in the output file and the execution aborts. Is there a way to mimic this with source()? 2. I am trying to abort the execution with ESC key, but again the same thing happens: it aborts the current expression but continues on. How to abort an R script with source()? I...

installing a windows 3.1/95 program
I've been asked to try and get an old program running on one of the newer machines so we can lose the windows 98 machine. so shoved the floppy in, got it started to install in wine no problems, however midway through installation I get "error, unable to install font" now I've shoved the 98 hard disk in the machine, and copied everything in the font folder to the font folder on the virtual c drive. I've tried copying and pasting all the files associated with the program onto the virtu...

Marking a register as reserved midway through register allocation
Hey all, I'm attempting to rewrite something that the AVR backend used to support (through an extremely dirty hack that was reverted before the upstreaming of the target). The removal of the hack can be seen on GitHub https://github.com/avr-llvm/llvm/pull/226/files On the AVR architecture, the stack pointer is not in a standard register, but rather it is a special register which can only

Error recovery
...both boxes (it has previously been rsynce-d) and fileA changes on hostA. rsync starts from hostB, fileA starts transfer. If the transfer aborts before it is complete (due to a network failure) what happens? In a successful transfer dir1 on hostB will have fileA fileA~ But if the transfer aborts midway will the results be fileA <<- partial results fileA~ <<- original file Or will it recover intelligently and the results will be fileA <<- original file with no changes I have looked in the man page and FAQs and I have not found a definitive answer to this question. If it is doc...
