SAN Devices
Anyone out there using small-midsized (2-4 TB) SAN solution among multiple Asterisk systems? I don't have the budget for an EMC-caliber solution, and can't seem to find much else out there. gencache.tdb size and cache flush
Hi all, I have a midsize AD domain with some 50k users but only 100 workstations joined. Sometimes I find server CPU throttling at 100%. In order to let it drop and have smooth performance I delete cache: systemctl stop samba net cache flush systemctl start samba First of all, is it needed a samba stop to flush the cac...

John Rosatti, Excavators, 3D, NASA and Why Should I care?
...just 360. This is not to be confused with Microsoft's vertical technology and news search engine called Excavator or xcavator, as one has nothing to do with the other. Here we're talking about heavy duty digging machines, even though several manufacturers like John Deere, offer Compact, Midsize, and Large Excavators ranging from 0-6 metric tons for the compact excavators, 6 to 40 metric tons for the midsize, and 40 to 85 for large John Deere excavators. Additionally there exist mini-excavators, made by another manufacturer, that will fit through a door. In case you're now wondering...

SAN certificates for multiple domains and multiple services
Hi, I'm currently installing and configuring CentOS 7 on a public server. The machine will host a few small-to-midsize projects that are currently running on a handful of Slackware servers: public library databases, our public school's agenda, a small webradio, OwnCloud for myself and a local non-profit, etc. Until recently I've mostly used self-signed SSL certificates for stuff needing a secure connectio...

Combining rails intrAnet and public site.
Hello, everyone! I was wondering if somebody has some insight on this issue. [h]A little background:[/h] I work for a midsize electronic manufacturing company with 2 people in IT dept - a network admin and a developer (me). We''ve been using rails to migrate from an old dBase and VB based system to build internal company IntrAnet that does things like label printing, invetory control, shipping, etc. [h]The Dile...

Multiple locations, 2 servers - planning questions...
Hello all/Timo, Up until now, my main Clients office has consisted of a single location, and I have never had to deal with the situation of multiple locations for a single company. They have just told me that they are acquiring an additional floor at a building that is about 4 minutes away - but obviously far enough away that I now have to deal with supporting users in the same domain but at

samba PDC + BDCs + LDAP

I also have some experience with OpenLDAP and I've even written some objectclasses and attributes when the standard ones weren't enough However, I'm trying to set up a midsized network using LDAP for SSO and I can't make samba work as I'd liked... I'm probably doing something stupid or haven't read (or understood) the right part of the docs... any pointer will be greatly appreciated. I have 5 offices and a central (hosted) server.
