Puppetmaster be client of another puppetmaster?
Is is possible to have a puppetmaster that is a client of a different
puppetmaster? We manage our customers'' server via puppet, but one customer
has a puppetmaster server which looks after their internal systems. We''ve
tried the following in /etc/puppet/puppet.conf ("customer" and "us"
replacing the domain names) on their puppetmaster:

That's not at all clear (quite apart from the double protocol prefix). A
lot of the potential audience of this list "know" how Mailman works, so
why have you broken that knowledge by delivering to those who have
disabled mail delivery?

I have disabled mail delivery in Mailman.
I'm still receiving the list mails.

Fw: Shared mailboxes and INBOX
Should users of a shared mailbox be able to see both their personal inbox
and that of the shared mailbox?
Thanks,

I'm trying to implement a shared mailbox: in other words, we have a

Domain members list
Using Samba 3.0.2a as a PDC, I wanted to add a domain user to the
workstation's local 'administrators' group. I logged into the
workstation (Win2K) as the local admin, and browsed the domain for
usernames. The domain members list seems to contain every entry in
/etc/passwd - how can I restrict the list to just those people for whom
the command 'smbpasswd -a xxxxx' has been run?

Subfolders of Inbox with LAYOUT=fs
We've just converted to LAYOUT=fs. Some users had subfolders under Inbox,
and for those users some MUAs no longer show those folders.
The directory structure is that the cur, tmp and new folders are in the
'location' directory, but the subfolders are in
$location/INBOX/$foldername.
I am suspicious of this:

Bizarre failure of samba shares to XP
OK, this one is really strange, and I'm not sure where to go with it. Here's the setup ...
Main box is running Debian testing/sarge with samba 3.0.5. Earlier it was 3.0.4 and 3.0.2. Very generic installation for home, acting as a file server for several XP Pro boxes, and everything has been running swimmingly. Using USER security, with users logging in to the XP boxes with the same ID

Lag on network using Samba
I am using Samba for a file server and get a lag when accessing files
across the network, I assume it is due to inactivity, because the first
file I access takes the longest to access, and then other files I access
immediatly after are much faster. If I do not access any files for a
while I get the problem again. It all works well, but I would really
like to get rid of this Lag when opening a

Unusual behaviour
Hi,
I've just noticed something strange in dovecot 0.99.10.5. I created
some IMAP folders from the command line (mkdir .INBOX.Folder1) as a
different user to the owner of the mailbox. Obviously when I tried to
view them via IMAP I got an error message, but the message to the client
was "internal error[date time]" where date and time appeared to be the
current date and time.

Samba config
Hi I?m having difficulty configuring Samba running on FreeBSD. Samba
version is 2.2.8a. The scenario is that we have an NT4 domain and I am
looking to migrate the printers onto Samba. All of the printers are
connected via print servers, mainly HP JetDirect. As far as security is
concerned I am happy for guest/anonymous logon as the server will only
be used for printing but I have set security to

Lock file /var/lib/puppet/state/puppetdlock
I''m just starting a roll out of Puppet and I''m seeing a problem on maybe
25% of client nodes. The symptoms are that the clients stop updating. In
the Puppetmaster log, I''m seeing things like:

Setting MSS
Hi
I have a (bizarre) problem with ssh, which someone has suggested may be
down to the MSS value being too high. I know that within Shorewall I can
clamp the MSS value to the MTU-40 value, but is there a way I can set
MSS to a discreet value? I just want to (dis)prove the MSS theory at the
moment (I know it isn''t a real fix).
Thanks,
Keith

Folders with mail and subfolders
I have a maildir hierarchy (built originally with Courier-IMAP) where
some folders contain both email and subfolders. Using Dovecot I cannot
see the mail in the top folders: I can only see the subfolders.
Is this an RFC restriction or a Dovecot restriction? If the latter, is
it planned to change?
Otherwise: just started using Dovecot, and I'm very impressed with the
speed of it. Thanks!
