explorer.exe crashes on security tab access
...t before crash i see
unresolved SID which looks like nothing I know (doesn't look like domain
SID - maybe local user SID from samba member server?). All files that
cause this issue are from any of the samba servers.
Same files I can vew and edit "security" tab no problem on older
micrososft OS (win 2012 r2 server or windows 7).
I have samba 4.8.3 DC's.
I didn't dig too much into it, so I can't help, other than confirm, that
there is an issue with security tab under specific circumstances.

Don't use .local
Micrososft changed this statement a several of times.
The only reason they did is because people using Apple are complaining
some services are not working "well" on their OSX and it's a pain to
change the DNS name of your Business Server on Windows Server
As said before, running on .alocal for...

I wonder if the 'unresolved SID' could be one of the Well Known SIDs ?

samba AD trusted certificate for RADIUS server (MS PKI, for example AD CS)
Hi,
We are running a 3 DC samba AD domain, and use 802.1x authentication for
the win10 workstations to access the wired network.
We are facing the issue where, following windows updates, our windows
clients keep changing back the 802.1x settings to the windows default,
namely: to verify the server identity and do computer authentication only.
The latter is no problem, but the first one

By primary group I mean the group that is set by chgrp. that is the group
returned after the pound key (#) from getfacl. In other words the Unix
group and not the one managed by ACLs.

Don't use .local
I'm not sure if I would not advise to use .local, sometimes it seems
to be needed to make a proper location for a running domain where even
.cityname cannot accomplish what you need.
To be honest I don't run Avahi and will not either. Avahi and mdns are
actually only designed because of of bad DNS management by system
administrators and have (Apple) users use all their features, the same
