Firewire question (Centos 4.4)
Assuming I have a firewire card with a supported chipset, is there
anything special I need to do in order for the kernel to recognize the
card? Shouldn't kudzu "wake up" and configure the card when I boot up
after installing it?
This is a brand spanking new 4.4 system and a supported Agere chipset
firewire card. I'm having trouble tickling devices connected to the
card.

VGA passthrough ? AMD-FX8, GA-990FXA-UD3, G210
Hello,
Like many trying and posting here, I''m new to VGA passthrough.
Computer was bought, checking compatibility from
http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/VTd_HowTo
The hardware is mostly not exactly on the list, but mainly new versions
of the same series (I think).
IOMMU "seems" to be working (not 100% sure what to check).
I used debian/wheezy kernel and xen, dom0 and HVM domu.

Bind won't start.
Dear Group,
In the process of configuring bind, I created a new configuration file under /etc/named.conf
options {
directory "/var/named";
version "Nope.";
};
zone "internal.micro.com" in {
type master;
file "internal.micro.com";
};
This is the definition I am using for the forward zone under /var/named/internal.micro.com

Centos 6.4 - doesnt power off with shutdown/poweroff cmd
Hello,
I'm looking for help figuring out why I am having problems with shutting
down a machine.
I have tested the machine using Fedora 19 and Ubuntu 12 Live CD's and both
power down without issues.
I added acpi.debug_level=1 to the grub boot as it was suggested to see more
info about ACPI in the logs
I found the following ACPI Errors in the /var/log/messages

Seek some help on operating system drivers. Thanks!
Hello, I am a user of CentOS 7.6. I came here for help.
I recently bought a microserver called HPE Proliant MicroServer Gen10(X3216 APU).
CentOS 7.6 was installed for it. I found that the fan of the machine would keep turning and the noise was very loud. I searched everywhere but I couldn't find any way out.
Pardon my ignorance showing. I don?t know where to seek help.

Centos on a Flash drive and Micro drive
I am considering putting together a 'micro server' that I can easily
travel with. I am seriously considering the decTOP, as at $99 (plus the
cost of a 256MB SIMM) is amazingly priced.
But I want to run on batteries, so trash a real hard drive. I have a
couple of IDE to Compact flash adapters that support 2 flash cards. So
I was considering a 4Gb (or even 2Gb) cheap real fash card

A question about AArch64 Cortex-A57 subtarget definition
Hello everybody,
I'm reading the .td files defining the Cortex-A57 processor,
which is a subtarget of AArch64 target, and there is something
confusing me in the `AArch64SchedA57.td` file.
In the top of `AArch64SchedA57.td`, various processor resource are
defined, as follows
```
def A57UnitB : ProcResource<1>; // Type B micro-ops
def A57UnitI : ProcResource<2>; // Type
Micros-Fidelio - billing in hotel
There is hotel application weary popular in Croatia - Micros-Fidelio.
Now I need to connect Asterisk with this application for purpose of
billing. Thing is that hotel would like to give customer one bill for
every service that he used while he was in hotel.
Has anybody connected Asterisk with Micros-Fidelio? As I understand this
isn't some local dev...
[LLVMdev] micro mips/mips32
My understanding was that micro mips was similar to Thumb2, in that the smaller encodings have constraints on which registers can be read/written, because of the narrowing of the register fields in the encoding.
If that's the case, then it definitely makes sense to model the micro mips instruction set as distinct from the mips32 instruction set, in basically the same way that Thumb2 is done.
[LLVMdev] micro mips/mips32
The problem is that everything about the mips32 and micro mips 16
instruction is the same, aside from the encoding in to binary.
Seems like maybe we need to extend the notion of an instruction so that
it can have alternate encodings depending on subtarget.
[LLVMdev] various mips16 and micro mips issues
We are starting to look at the mips16 and micro mips ports.
There are various design issues that people may have some good input on.
Especially in how to structure the TD files and other optimizer issues.
Mips16 is sort of like thumb and Micro Mips like thumb2 as far as I
understand.
Mips16 or Micro Mips can live inside of either MIPS32 or MIPS64.
In gcc, it's possible using attributes to
[LLVMdev] micro mips/mips32
Micro mips is really 100% .s compatible with mips32.
There are no register field size constraints and such.
It's a strict superset of mips32. For the gcc port, the assembler is
basically the only thing we changed.
The gcc port was just adding the ".micromips" directive to the .s file
and maybe some tiny
driver work.
That is the quandary.
The entire .td file would have to be
